EJ silvertip fibre XL v1
Dr Jon's classic
Anherb balm

Thanks to @Mark1966 for sending some samples over, which I'm going through in order to plan potential purchases after the sabbatical year.

Dr Jon's provided a nice, creamy lather. The scent is pleasant but nothing interesting. It's a very soft soap which turns me off as I have had a few very soft soaps go bad. I don't think this will make the purchase list. A nice shave nonetheless.

Good growth to attack as no shave for a couple of days.Late notice for my daughter to visit her friend so no pic as a bit rushed, but still took it easy for a very nice two passes as rushing with a Polsilver in an open comb is not a good idea.Clean, smooth and smell good. The Viet stuff may well have been purchased cheap,it was from an Op shop, but it still smells ok to me and even got a "You smell nice" from the mother of my daughters friend.

Pre-Shave: SebaMed, cold water
Razor: BBS-1
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Shavemac ATG 2017 LE
Lather: Mystic Water Bergamot, Cedarwood & Juniper
Post-Shave: Alum, Thayers Original Alcohol Free Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Brilliant afternoon shave on a public holiday - the BBS-1/Ladas combo took care of four days worth of growth as if non existent and this unique Shavemac knot produced some stellar Mystic Water lather - I really couldn't ask for more.

I hope you all have a fantastic start into the new week (y0

Another face lathering shave:
Machine: Weber/Ufo Goliath prototype
blade: Feather
Brush: BSB2 silvertip
soap: ByLuna Azahar
splash: APR/SS Australians All LE

Terrific shave and nice scents around me. i should have rubbed more soap on my face, anyway. I got enough lather for a really niceshave, but not for shaving the cat that was supervising me while shaving (did I mentioned we have to kiitens around at home?)

  1. Preshave: Cyril R Salter
  2. Razor: Dovo Bismarck 6/8, full hollow
  3. Soap:St James of London, lavender and Geranium
  4. Brush: Simpsons, Tulip 3, Manchurian
  5. Postshave: RazoRock, Don Marco
  6. Earworm: Heroes - David Bowie
whilst the end result was smooth as, the take down was quite rough. I think that this blade might need honing. I've got some stones on order and a Gold dollar to practice on. However, I didn't get a lapping plate/stone so may have ot hit the internet again. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheaper alternative to a DMT Diamond Lapping plate, i.e. several factors cheaper.

Pre: Pb Pre Shave Emulsion
Soap: Pb Brazilian Bay Thyme
Brush: 26mm TF KBBB
Razor: TI Flower pattern
Post: Sudsy Soapery Shave Oil
Put the TI across the stones last night. The bevel looked pretty impressive under the scope so seemed a shame to touch it but it wasn't quite shaving how I like. Honed really nicely and shaved beautifully. Was really enjoying the Brazilian Bay Thyme this morning with it's spicy bay scent and the lather worked really nicely.

That is a beautiful razor

Ahh sorry :). Forgot you had had it in your sights. Aesthetically it's not my favourite blade but I was really happy with how it took an edge and shaved really nicely. I'm still kicking myself for missing the blonde scaled razor, then this one would've been all yours.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
