Hi all,
I had a very special shave today to celebrate the wedding anniversary of my lovely wife and I.
Like all couples it hasn’t always been smooth sailing at the very lest the good times have far outweighed the bad times.
In my case “I first had to slay the dragon to get the Princess”.
Or you could say I’ve got it right second time round.

The Gillette aristocrat 15 is as far as I know the first TTO aristocrat the first model being the 24k gold plated Christmas special that was available Christmas 1934 only.
The efficiency of the 15 is in my opinion the best of the Aristocrat's that I have used I’m sure that’s partly because of the open comb.
I'm not saying it’s the most efficient Gillette out there but it is a nice smooth close shave which paired up well with the wizamet blade.
Also in my opinion, like most of the vintage razors it can’t compare in efficiency and smoothness to more than a few of the modern offerings.
In saying that I like so many of us I really love the vintage Gillette razors.
The vision and craftsmanship of a few has given so much enjoyment and of course great shaves to so many.

The Razorock Nomad soap has a great scent with a thick lather and good cushioning and a nice aftershave feel.

Finished off nicely with Genuine Ogallala bay rum and Sweet Orange aftershave splash definitely my favourite line of bay rum aftershaves.

1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG with a couple of touch ups done.

No, nicks no worries.

Cheers.

Happy anniversary, you better stay fit and health, otherwise, she might stop calling out to you from time to time.

It’s always tough to choose a favorite from the Murphy & McNeil lineup, but Green Man Fougere is definitely up there. It has a beautifully balanced scent—fresh, green, and grounded in that classic fougère style. One of those soaps you look forward to revisiting.

The Blackland Blackbird standouts in my collection as the DEAD killer—Double Edge Acquisition Disorder came to a halt when this beauty arrived. The shave is efficient, smooth, and incredibly satisfying.

For the brush, the Maseto Himalaya 24mm Extra Density Silvertip Badger continues to impress. If you're looking to get into high-quality badger brushes without dropping premium-tier money, Maseto is one of the best values out there. Soft tips, great backbone, and consistent quality.

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Pears soap
Brush: TroyCraft "Vazon Forest" 28mm AP G5C
Soap: Noble Otter Two Kings
Razor: Atelier Durdan Vestige
Blade: Personna GEM Stainless
Post-shave: TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser, Noble Otter Two Kings A/S

Finally, a sunny, calm day. Spring here in Northern TAS can be trying, where normal gales are magnified by our mountain valley into truly ugly conditions going on for weeks at a time, carrying icy rain driven with gusts up to to 150km/h. So I have been enjoying the warm scent of Two Kings perhaps a little too much; there is now a large amount of the bottom of the tub visible through the soap.
