Hi all,
I had a lovely shave today with the Haircut&Shave Co DE razor it has a .75 mm blade gap with neutaral exposure.
This razor features an aluminium base plate its the only SS DE I have tried like this I mustsay it works well.
Its a very smooth efficient razor the wieght of the razor seemed to do all the workfor me.

The Goodfella's smile Abysso has avery nice on the face feel with a great scent to boot this is one of my favourite TGS soaps.

Finished off with Imperial lather splash.

1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG Done no touch ups.

Enjoy your next Shave.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to all.

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Pears soap
Brush: TroyCraft "Opalesque" 28mm AP G5C
Soap: Ach. Brito Lavanda (sample)
Razor: Atelier Durdan Vestige
Blade: Personna GEM Stainless
Post-shave: TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser, Oxford & Cambridge cologne

This soap sample was generously sent to me by @JaggardJ, along with a whole bunch of others. Gestures such as this are a quintessential feature of the membership of this forum, and much appreciated. (y)

The cream is very similar to the Wholly Kaw Lavender la Supérieure marketed under the West Coast Shaving brand. The product has that kind of pearlescent appearance that I, for no objective reason, tend to find slightly off-putting, but that has no bearing on its performance. I was a bit parsimonious with my load (scoop and smoosh) in an attempt to make it go further, but it still produced a creditable lather with plenty of slickness for a 3-pass melon and dial shave. The scent is on the bright side, not quite as natural as my benchmark Castle Forbes, but good nonetheless.

Thanks again @JaggardJ, these interludes make a year's restraint on shaving purchases much easier. :)

Foxgloves are regarded as a noxious weed in these parts, but I love them. But not as much as I love YBL, arguably the most sublime soap ever made... ❤️

Haven't posted in a good while but my normal life come to a screaming halt six weeks ago when I arrived home from a work trip and the dogs all wanted to say G'day at once. So a handful of dogs, turning on the spot whilst not realising I had a foot firmly planted and crunch, a classic tib/fib explosion, down I went like a sack of potatoes. Spiral fracture in the tibia and smashed fibula. The fix - apparently tibial nails are all the rage (see attached image). Now you know that as soon as they're pulling out drills, hammers, screws etc for surgery, it's not going to be pretty. So over the last six weeks opioids are my friend, not a very good friend, but a very necessary friend, whom I am still showing to the door. Oh, and lets not forget the ketamine trip in ER when they did a temporary set on my leg whilst waiting two days for surgery. Everyone in within cooee would've heard my singing/screaming. I've decided that torture is not for me.....name, rank and serial number and whatever else you want to know...... Kudos to Mrs Pbgoose who stuck by me and talked me through it.
So my house looks like a centre for mobility aids, my favourite being a borrowed lift chair, which I've spent a large percentage of my recent life in.
And Gillette disposables got a look in when I got home and had a shower, apparently they don't wash or shower you any more in hospital so I was a bit on the nose and bearded by the time I got home. Shower shaving was definetly a thing until I got a little more mobile.
Life throws stuff like this at you, makes you stop and gain a whole new appreciation for a lot of things, like the finer accoutrements of wet shaving.......
