I never did get the hang of bourbon, but it's been a long time since I last tried it. Back then, it seemed like drinking cheap perfume. But I'm willing to admit I may have been wrong, so I've been meaning to revisit it for a while. I want to try out some of the Japanese offerings first though, they seem to be well regarded.
In the meantime, tonight's prandial is one of my go-to malts...
...But getting expensive now. Horrified to see this retailing at Dan's for $245 now.

I have got this bottle maybe 4 years ago for Christmas. Got it for under $100. At the time normal price was $135. Today the price is shockingI never did get the hang of bourbon, but it's been a long time since I last tried it. Back then, it seemed like drinking cheap perfume. OK, this is mine for tonight. And I don't care if people think I'm an alcoholic.
As I get older, I find I have a hard time caring about a lot of things. Fortunately, I don't care.

I've heard from several people that rums are worth exploring, but I have yet to venture into that realm. I'd say "one day, maybe", but I suspect it would take more than one. Then there's tequila. I've enjoyed the ones I've tried, but I gather it's almost as rich a field as whisky.
Back in the distant island whence I came, we're all born with two livers, but unfortunately we still only have the one lifetime.

I have started exploring Bourbon.
The usual stuff...Jack Daniels, Jim Beam (Black), Buffalo Trace, and Old Crow (my new favourite).
The Old Crow is quite a different taste...almost 'delicate' flavour. Very nice!
The Buffalo Trace is not yet opened (early Xmas present from me to me).
I'm quite liking the change in taste/flavours...but I do still like a good Rum.
