Heirloom Hip Flask

Though some of you folks might appreciate this;

Belonged to my Great Great Grandfather (I think - have to check). Other side says " From the NCOfficers "C" Company, 4th Regiment. Unfortunately I don't know he occasion, maybe on his discharge.

Mum must be feeling her age and asked me on a recent visit if there was anything in "the cabinets" I would like to have. This flask has had my attention for decades and is the only item I have any interest in. I'm very glad to have it.

Not sure how I missed this post but that is a beautiful piece of family history, I have recently come to appreciate the humble flask.
As part of my study there is a good deal of memory work, much of which cannot be written down, having a small group of guys, a couple of glasses and a strategically appropriate reserve of whiskey has proven a great help.
