Hi-o. I've been wanting a straight razor for years but never took the plunge. My lovely wife gave me a nice straight for my 40th but, ironically, I was in the middle of growing a rather large beard at the time. I've finally streamlined the face & I'm ready to dive in.
I'm hoping to learn a thing or two thousand from the collective wisdom in this forum.
I will have many questions. Be prepared ;)

Welcome aboard mate, glad to have another straight user around here. There are plenty of knowledgeable blokes around here should you need advice etc

Very modest set up so far :)

To be honest, the alum block. If I use an aftershave like Proraso, it's to feel like I'm treating myself; and if I use fancy colognes, it's for the wife or because I'm going out. I like alum. :)

You can't go wrong with alum! (Just don't accidentally lick it!!! [emoji23])

An alum block is a must - especially for a str8 shooter. [emoji6]
