How Gillette Cartridge Systems REALLY work

I know we have NOT been discussing THAT advertisement [and please don't go there, it cannot end well] but a useful by-product of the attention is the greater focus on the products that Gillette is trying to push on the unsuspecting public.

I was forwarded this which I'm told was in the SMH -

But this figure apply just for the blue ones, or does it also apply to ladypink ones?

I have not watched the commercial, but I have already seen quite a few messages in spanish forums and media from people recommending double edge razors...

It would be funny to check the selling balance of most popular online retailers of 'classic' wetshaving, if this massive 'online' response to the Gillette commercial will have an impact on sales of DE razors, that would be great. At least if people reduce the use of disposable ones, the environment would be benefited.

The only impact that I may expect, if any, is some guys switching from Gillette to another brand of disposable or cartridge ones.

My father had been using the Canadian version of this, called "razor pit", for about 8 years.

He gets 6 months from a single fusion cartridge whereas 2 weeks was his previous limit.

I was able to change him over to using a brush and soap/cream but no chance been change from the fusion.

Carts are not value for money but they get a bad wrap. It's the shaving gels/foams that should take the brunt of negativity because when I changed from goo in a can to shaving oil, but kept using the mach3, it was no less than life changing!

I was able to shave daily with no irritation or rashes. The life of the cart also improved.

I’ve actually got one of these somewhere but found I got just as long with the cart by running up my forearm 10-20 times before shaving. A cart would last 2 months for me doing this.

It goes to show there is credibility in the theory that the blade edge doesn't dull, it just gunks up.

There's tons of reviews for the razor pit type products that extend the life of the carts.

If DE wasn't an option, I'd be happy with a mach 3, shaving oil and a razor pit...but thankfully, traditional wet shaving is an option so I'll stick with that
