I can finally use my stash of Astra platinum blades.

Astra platinum (Astra green) were a blade I didn't like.
The Astra blue (stainless) were fine, but not the green box jobbies. They didn't seem to work well with the Timeless, or Karve I had.
So I had a couple hundred lurking in a box, and after getting the Lupo 72 from @SpeedyPC I thought to try the platinum blades again.
Different story now...the Astra green perform well with the Lupo. I only tried them because I thought I'd get rid of them if they were still not performing...but I'm pleasantly surprised.
The blade suits the razor, or the razor suits the blade.
Either way, they now work so I'm a happy wee camper.
Still loving that Lupo 72 @SpeedyPC it's the only razor I use now.
Even my neat wee Piccolo hasn't been used since the Lupo arrived.

Finally someone who can use the Astra Green. I binned all mine years ago.
Yes, I was about to bin mine too.
Maybe the more aggressive/blade forward razors (such as my Timeless .95 OC, or the Karve with plates 'F' and 'G') weren't the proper vehicle for an Astra green.
Once these are gone I won't be buying more though. I do have better blades that aren't razor fussy.

All DE blades on the market, ALWAYS, behave differently on EVER razor on the market.
They ALL comes down to a very simple language of wet shaving, YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY!..... End of story.
Because EVERYBODY is different.

I'm so glad, and very please, that you really enjoy your Lupo 72.

I didn't hate either, I just didn't love them.

My take on the Astra green is they worked fine in some razors and average in others
I am not surprised they worked well in your new Lupo 72 I have heard its a fine razor.
Witch is part of my my point my use of the Astra green has been apart from a few modern razors
has been all in Gillette's.
For me in the mild ones like the Tech's not so good (with exception of the British fat handle) but much better in others like the super speeds (except the blue tip) , adjustables and aristocrats.
What I'm getting at is in my opinion there are better blades for mild razors.
All razors have their own traits its one of the things I love about DE and SE razors.
Happy shaving.

I have read this on every forum over many years, it's bullshit. A sharp blade is a sharp blade no matter what razor you put it in. Astras are not sharp blades, they're just average, and swapping razors won't make them sharp.
