Muhle R41 : Fear Factor or Whisker Whacker ?

Somehow, I never got a good shave from the Rocca, used every blade possible in it, tried different days of growth but just found it a tad bit mild and inefficient for me. I really wanted to like the Razor but in the end I found it just boring and a mediocre shave, it just didn't work for me.

Enjoy your next shave with the R41 mate and do try getting a Yaqi Beast or Mellon head in Zamak.

tabac is my favourite soap and set, its a classic and im loaded up with a lifetime supply of tabac tallow pucks :)

shame you didnt get along with your Rocca, I love m ine. It isnt anywhere near as aggressive as the R41 and I also share your thoughts on it being a little boring but its as German that German gets.. does the job perfectly

for me, what it lacks in aggression the Rocca makes up in smoothness which allows me to do an extra pass (WTG, XTG and 2xATG) and sometimes if in the mood i'll go for touch ups.. these extra passes end up giving me a closer shave than a 3 pass R41 shave. I love my Rocca and for me best pairing is a BIC, super sharp and smooth blade

there is no chance of me buying a razor anytime soon, it is true, I am cured and no longer suffer any acquisition syndrome issues (with shaving) anymore.. The WR2 and BB totally cured my itch and the Rocca's, R41, Lupo's and Jaws provide some variety when needed..

good thing too, reckon I am stocked up for life :)

I'm glad you clarified that you've satisfied your shaving acquisition syndrome issues - for a moment I thought you'd managed to buy everything you'd ever need in life, and you had arrived at a state of perfect peacefulness... :)

Sounds like a state of ZEN Mate.

Took the Yaqi Knight Helmet for a Spin yesterday, super close shave that matches the R41 or a little better but not as smooth as the Muhle offering. The Kinght Helmet delivered a two pass BBS with minor touch ups but unlike other razors it had my full attention right through the shave, this one can Bite, definitely a Blade on a stick. Having said that, every seasoned shaver should give it a shot.

I feel you have a better chance of winning powerball.... then feel free to contact me :)
I recently finished my old Formula Mitchesl Wool Fat and my Moos sticks. these new formula soaps without Tallow are annoying sometimes. Grateful that Stirlings still have their Mutton Tallow in place.

Keep those Pucks ready Mate, From a Teleman to a Stratman, I'm aiming to become a multiple Powerball Champion.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

speaking of strats I am in the process of upgrading both of mine. I changed the pickguard, knobs etc on one of the strats over for black on one of them but unfortunately stuffed up my bridge pickup in the process :(

I reckon this has turned into a great opportunity to try some new pickups as my current ones didnt really deliver that old strat sound I grew up with, so after quite a bit of googling I am picking up a set of Fender Pure Vintage 65 PuPs which sound exactly like what I want so chucking those into the strat this weekend.

I'll post some pics in a topic when i get a chance

Oh no.

This is super awesome. The 65s have a rich pure sound, I remember Hank Marvin using them and Dave Gilmour on many of the early recordings before he started with the DiMarzio FS-1 Bridge pickup. My cousin still has his American deluxe with the ACN noiseless and I don't like those at all, sounds like a Start that lost its way.

I think your Strat just got a new lease of life Mate. So looking forward to those pics.
