Question for those who use shipping forwarding from the states

Happy New Year my dudes!

I'm thinking about buying a bunch of synthetic knots I want to try (namely game changer, tuxedo, ubersoft 2 and maybe a couple others) and getting some empty handles from whipped dog to set them in. Now Larry has extremely reasonably priced shipping, but considering the knots will be coming from a few different vendors I figure I can save a bit of coin by using a shipping forwarding service so I'm looking for opinions from those who have used them.

Which one do you use/recommend and how does it work?

Cheers!

I smell the ultimate synth knot review thread coming up....

Would be an interesting thing to review.

Personally I think the game changer knot may be the best if you like backbone in your knots.

I have yet to try the Tuxedo knot but may have one coming soon.

'may'.

Review in 3, 2, 1.......

Actually have one being made by an artisan in the States at the moment. Might take a while as he is also making a brush for a family member of mine and is putting in a logo coin in the bottom.

Problem is said coin has to be posted from
Hong Kong to him and will delay the whole process.

So yes eventually their will be a tuxedo knot review from me :)

I think that the tuxedo knot is used by Peter Wolf and I believe others have it.

Is Peter also doing the handle for your relative? I seem to recall he also put in coins in the bottom of brushes.

I've been using shipito for the past year, the eco shipping option is dirt cheap and I've never had an issue. Despite their poor communication they're quite flexible with their options in regards to receiving and shipping to any place world wide, you'll get 2 USA addresses and an address in Europe. I recommend joining anyway since its free and gives you broader access to more USA stores including Amazon.

That was pretty much the plan :D

The more reading I've done the more I think I'm not really going to like the game changer and the tuxedo will probably be my favourite. I currently have a whipped dog 30mm synth in the post and I'm waiting for that to arrive to see how I like the size to help me choose between the 24mm and 30mm tuxedo knots.

I look forward to getting your thoughts on the knot. From the reading I've done it seems that the fibres are probably the same, but Wolfwhiskers/Envy shaves are using a 25mm version of the knot the Nathan Clark has had produced (known as the 'black wolf' knot) and the 'tuxedo' knots are being sold by Andrew Palombo (APShaveCo) in 24mm and 30mm (he also has an all white synthetic knot called 'cashmire' and a synthetic 'faux horse' knot on his etsy store. I think the black wolf is a bit more of a fan shape and the tuxedo more bulb, but I may be wrong on that one.

The brushes I have are being made by Leo Frilot with the tuxedo knots, he did Chris Manchester United brush.

Nathan Clark does great work and anything he produces is top quality.

The game changer has the most backbone of any synthetic knot I have ever used.

No doubt. I'm kind of on the fence now about getting the three knots (game changer, tuxedo and ubersoft 2) and whipped dog handles or just getting a whole brush from Nathan with the black wolf.

I've been so curious about the game changer for so long, but the more I learn about it the more confident I am I won't like it.

Whatever you do, make sure the f$*kers you use to forward items haven't moved since you last used them. I'm a (thankfully cheap) watch down as comgateway changed addresses on me.

I recently had some Caties Bubbles soaps and aftershave at ship it to. Went to post and noticed the customs declaration has changed and asks now specifically about flammable essential oils or flammable perfume. I ticked the box and was still able to ship the package (although waiting on confirmation that it has shipped).

I marked it as aftershave on the form, we will see what happens. Ship it to may no longer be an option for shipping in aftershaves.

Just get a brush from Nathan Clark, you wont be disappointed.

Get a game changer knot you may end up liking it. I really like mine and it is getting a run in the rotation at the moment and if you have seen how many brushes i have purchased lately that is no small feat ;)

Yeah, maybe. Based off my calculations the price for one brush from Nathan is about $30 less than getting the 3 knots and 3 handles so I'm not sure which way I want to go yet.

How would you describe the game changer? Can you compare it against other synthetic knots?

Well nevermind, I'm getting a wolf whiskers lol https://paste-and-cut.com.au/community/threads/wolf-whiskers.3503/#post-88507
