Soap recommendations - potential Mennen replacement?

Hi all,

I'm riding the nostalgia train something chronic and am chasing something close to the fragrance of the Mennen sticks, however I've come up stumps trying to find a consensus on what would be best suited to replace it.

I've got a list of possible alternatives that have popped up here and there in random threads, but I've got no idea of what's what and my current soap (Arko) has me questioning everything, I smell both bubblegum and urinal cake. After the first shave with it, I changed to shaving pre-shower.

I currently have the following in a list of potential replacements, but would like to hear thoughts on each from those who've dealt with them, both fragrance and performance.
Derby,
La Toja,
Lea,
Tabac,
Sofeel. (can't find anything much on this, aside from it's Aus made and medical/nursing supply joints sell it).

Thanks in advance for any input.

When caravanning I use Lea shave sticks x Connaught or Cella red. The shave sticks remind me of Schafmilch but not as slick, now Schafmilch at 60g you could/can use as a stick or lather as you like?

I agree @LesC the Cella red is nice stuff the scent reminds me of marzipan.
Or you could go for the Cella 1000ml block which is available locally.
Its a lot of soap but that is the original Cella formula (high in tallow ).
Its best to cut it into segments keep out the one to use and freeze the rest as it will go rancid with
the high amount of tallow.
Its brilliant soap.
If you have some mates to split it with its great value too.
Cheers.

I love the Tabac Stick or soap refill both Old Tallow formula and the current non tallow, always in my den. To me the best Soap stick I have ever used is Speick even the new formula. If you want to upgrade that, try this out -

Grate one stick of Arko and one stick of Speick, mix up the content well but gently with your fingers and then compress it into an empty soap container or bowl till there are no gaps left in between. Now try brush loading or scoop and bowl lather with it. Speick provides the protection and the skin benefiting ingredients, while Arko is just a lather monster. I have tried many combinations with the Arko stick but this one works superbly.

I used to like the Mennen sticks but they are hard to procure in my region and somehow I guess I outgrew them.

The speick stick is good.

BTW - I'd totally forgotten about the Mennen sticks, but remember them many moons ago in the supermarkets.
Would love to find a vintage stick.

The Mennen stick I have would be a late 90's batch, I thought I saw a few more in storage over the years, but to date, I've only found the one..
Should have given wet shaving another thought before they discontinued them, as I'd probably have stocked up on a few, like the good little hoarder I can be. I love the scent and think this stick's going to be tucked safely away for the odd sniff and if I'm feeling extra nostalgic, the odd application.

Looks like I've got quite the list going for trialing now and probably a few that'll get one or two uses, but that's all part of the game I guess.
Derby,
Speik,
Sofeel,
Jikoryen,
Haslinger Schafmilch,
La Toja,
Lea,
Tabac.

Cella red looks to be something in the range of $50 on its own, so that might have to wait for another time as I'm the only one I know that wet shaves and the wife would not like the intrusion into the freezer space..

Don't know about you, but I don't feel like paying $27.50 shipping for $19.50 worth of products..

But if you buy 200 sticks the shipping is only $33!

I'm more troubled that -
a) these are being sold by an aged care supply company, and
b) @Bladerunner7 is haunting places like that ...

I just re-read this and I feel like that came off a little rude.
The find and link are much appreciated.(y)
The company does look to be a legitimate one, registered from around 2000 on, so I thought it might be worth throwing them in the cart to see what their postage was, but that's on par with U.S. postage.

I doubt they'd have 200 sticks, and I don't know that I'd hear the end of it if that rocked up.

It's probably the same nostalgia thought that I have with the stick that's spurred them to stock it..

Can't blame @Bladerunner7 for finding a source, especially if it was through a google session.. ask no questions :censored:🤫
