There is an app called Weblock but I doubt that it will prevent these pop-ups in Tapatalk. Does a reasonable job when I use Chrome or Safari.

Have you noticed any improvement? I haven't experienced an App Store problem in the last 2-3 days.
 
I had problems with my phone and had to flash a new ROM to get it working again.
And now tapatalk on android seems to have completely changed. Has a big update happened in the last few days?

No, I havent seen any major changes.

Might be related to newer layouts with 5.0 getting out there now.
