Gentlemen and Brothers of P & C,
What makes the Wet Shaving Community which is made up of Forums like ours, the many wet shaving Youtubers, bloggers and those on social media special, is the ability to bond together and to support a cause. Regardless of what gear we own, our pride, our egoistic knowledge or sometimes our snobbish attitude to snub cheaper alternatives etc. wet shaving enthusiasts display their real character in times of adversity. That's when the kindness, the humility, the generosity and the human heart take over everything else.
For those that know me personally, I'm a simple guy that loves his Faith, his Family, His Friends, Music and Wet Shaving. To me Family Is Precious and more than that LIFE is. I have been moved by the manner in which Vendors< forums and Wet Shavers have pitched in without the need of acknowledgement or praise for their efforts in coming forward to support a cause. Let me outline the few that I know -
1. The P&C Charity Auction- We all know this one.
2. The Badger & Blade Charity Auction - Donates proceeds to a Charitable Organization that focuses on an illness or a a much needed cause.
3. The Razor Company 'Never Alone' - which completed it's fourth year in 2024 with big artisans (USA & Canada) donating their event customized products for that year, the proceeds of which all went to Suicide prevention NGOs in the USA and Canada.
4. The Razor Company 'Unbreakable' - A free Shaving Soap Giveaway that saw many connect with owner Jason's friend Kim on social media to share her journey before she left us late last year. Kim was a fantastic human being, a huge part of the Wet Shaving Community and her smile, positivity and fighting spirit was super infectious. All wet shavers who knew her shed a tear when she moved on with the joy of having known her even if for a little while.
5. The Razor Company Super Matt Returns - Matt Fox or Foxy Matt remains one of the most loved wet shavers on Instagram and social media. A kind, humble and amazing husband and father of two was hit hard when his wife Julia was diagnosed with a terminal Illness. TRC rallied around him to raise funds and then again followed up with a ltd edition release of Super Matt Returns which had a Soap, After shave and even an amazing Aylsworth Apex Razor, again the Artisans contributed with TRC making sure the proceeds go to Matt's Family. Sadly Julia passed away at the young age of 44 soon after following a spirited and tough fight with her illness. The last of only six limited edition Super Matt Brushes from Turning by Tanz sold last weekend.
6. The Wet Shaving Store Double Y Limited Edition Set - One of my personal favorite Youtubers Double Y or Ygor Yuri Dos Santos passed away on 22 January 2025 leaving behind his wife and kids and so many followers who loved what he did and who he was. Ygor was a simple man that smiled through every video and was deeply passionate about wet shaving. His content was always informative and feel good and I learned a lot from him. So, Shannon Constantine of Elysian soaps crafted a Soap and AS with Double Y's favorite scent notes, on pre-order it sold out in a flash. The proceeds of the sales by TWSS go directly to Ygor's family.
7. The Wet Shaving Store Double Y Fund Raiser - Put together by Dave Dhanoo, this fund Raiser aims to collect 5000 GBP which can be donated to Ygor's wife and children. Artisans, Youtubers and others have contributed gear which will be entered into a raffle, some for those donating 10 GBP and all the rest for those donating 20 GBP and above. To me the Raffle doesn't matter but helping out in a small way does even if it is just a small smount. This isn't a promotional pitch but just something that was close to my heart that I wanted to share. I have added the link below in case you would like to be a part of it.
