Let me guess.....Grohlsamuthafucka?......Marcosucks?........Softsoapsoftc..k? I'm sure it was your old IP address rather than your new username that got you banned. Kudos for getting banned twice.

Nice try, and thanks for asking. It was Gun-Running Preacher Man. Pretty much asking for it, really. But if I ever have one beer too many and go back, I'll see how long I last with one of those.

So I corked my next Feather blade and tried it yesterday...

Shaving Nirvana. Found it.

Best shave I've ever had. No irritation whatsoever around my 'tardo' :p area on my neck, slight tingle with the alum block but overall it was perfect. Here's hoping I can do the same next time now.

- '52 Blacktip
- Feather Blade - corked
- Shavemac 177
- Trumper Limes
- Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

Off the vintage blades and onto a Personna red in the ss, with Tabac stick.
Lovely lather, but the blade is a step down from where I've been. Not as close and some very minor irritation.

Speick and Gillette plats - one of RMs uber expensive (for DE) blades.

Exceptional blade. Sharp enough, but smoother than most anything else, and comfy too. Only got 2 of these though. But they'd be worth buying. I'll probably have to settle for Super Irid's instead, they are very good too. Neither are run of the mill blades, shame they don't make more like these.

Let me draw your attention to this thread. Yes it's on this forum. Yes it's here in Australia. And yes, for that price you could also consider Dorcos. And he's got several wharehouses full of the things.

Those are the Dark/Maltese Platinums. I think Drubs might be talking about the White Platinums:

I think I dropped two blades in the package. Should be similar - white wrapper with the writing in blue. And yes they are a good blade but not worth it at $1.25-$1.50 per blade. You can get 50 blades for $63 with free postage: GILLETTE PLATINUM Hojas de afeitar / Razor Blades - 50 Cuchillas (10X5 Uds) | eBay

I got 50 Super Iridiums from Gifts & Care for about $20.

I obviously don't talk enough blades. Or maybe there should be a proper naming convention. The problem is if I stay clear of blade talk there's not much else to talk about.

Now I'm confused are these the same blades as nick, as I was going to buy some from him.

I can give you a few of Nicks Dark/Maltese Gillette Platinum double edged safety razor blades to try if you wish. Apparently they're different from the White Gillette Platinum double edged safety razor blades. Let me know and I can plonk a few in the post.

Pretty sure I already sent you over pack of Maltesers in a sampler ages ago.The Maltese Platinums have a white wrapper with a dark blue border, silver indent. Gillette in dark blue ink, Platinum in silver ink as below:

The White Platinums have an all white wrapper with 'Gillette Platinum' in Blue ink. They are virtually the same as the pic I posted in the previous post, except the '5' is missing on the wrapper. Pretty sure I dropped two of these in the package.

I sent you a pack of Silver Blues - have you taken off half your face tried them yet?

Yes, I got a pack of silver blues too. They were meh. The 2 single ones, white plats, were very good, never had these before. That's what I'm after. Are Nick's the same/similar?

They are similar but not as good - performance in Open Combs is not as good, and they have a bit more of a 'utilitarian' feel to them while you shave. Great shaving in a heavy vintage Gillette like you hate, or maybe they might work in the Futur for you. I am sure Jugs or someone over there has one or two you can try. I sent out enough of them over the last 18 months. I might have used 3 packs of a couple of display cards, the rest were PIF'd or samplered.

The White Platinums are in my book as close as you can get to the fabled 'Swedes'. I have gotten 5 shaves out of the White Plats and could have gone 6 with care. You kind of have to when you pay 6 times the price of a PermaSharp, or 4 times the price of a 7OC Yellow/Blue/Black.

That said, the ones I linked from eBay is where I got them from. The postage was a killer additional cost so having them for free international postage isn't as bad, but they are still a quarter of the price of a Fusion cart! I guess it is all relational.

I feel like I have achieved something massive - I have put you onto one blade you actually like!

Yet virtually impossible to get, unless you pay 'discontinued' prices...I'm at the stage where I'm enjoying the savings over carts.

Looks like bad news for Nick then, maybe. PJ can you stick a couple in the post for me to try pls?

I know what you mean - blades are TOOOO confusing!

No problem. I can probably drop it off tomorrow.

I have a pack of the Maltesers left.

Do you want them Drubbing?

Thanks mate, but PJ is dropping a couple off. I prefer my maltesers with chocolate on them. I can get through a whole family bag you know.

Have I thread crapped enough y'reckon?

BOT.
