DOTD! What are y'all drinking on today.

Just lodged submission to a government inquiry due today (I take that to mean before 11:59)

Long day at the end of a MASSIVE week, so, I think I deserve a wee dram ...

Oooooooooooooooh..... That is a very nice mid-dark colour whisky for an 18-year-old

This is from last night. Starting to feel like I'm getting on well with Cognac. Is it wrong that most of my posts are alcohol related?:whistle:
No. Cognac or Brandy is great for winter season near the warm open fire or fire type oven in the lounge room, because, the warmer temperature from the fireplace helps to bring out the flavour, aroma and the smell from the Cognac or Brandy to allow you to enjoy a very relaxing peaceful drink.

A non-pretentious Merlot blend from the challenging 2004 vintage.
Hence purchased for a rather attractive price on auction. Drinking very well now.
Opened with a Code38 wine key - probably up there in terms of engineering and ergonomics.

I just love the pink capsules on Vieux Chateau Certan.

My mouth is watering over that bottle.o_O

Enjoy.

My DOTD or rather DOTN, in recognition of the fact that my preference for big smoky Islay malts is not supported by my Morris Minor budget on an everyday basis, is Peat's Beast.

A mystery distillery, a very young whisky, but lots of character, lots of peat and a surprisingly long finish. A great decanter-filler, and I'll probably be using it for the hipflask too.

BUD5ZDM is a 15% off and free delivery code for first orders on www.boozebud.com
Prices are usually quite competitive so the 15% off makes it quite attractive.
I've noticed spirits are quite cheap at the moment at most retailers and assume it's due to fathers day this weekend. For example I just picked up some Diplomatico Rum for $80 (@ Dans) which is usually $100.
