Here are my SPUD razors.

SPUD 1 is my trusted 7O'Clock. Well used and hasn't been cleaned for a bit.

SPUD II are two piece razors that Mark gave me. They were "by catch" from one of his razor buys.

The last time I'm going to mention the word SPUD, utensil, by catch, bakelite or any other demeaning reference or indeed how damn good both are. In future I'll just refer to them as "a razor".

Nice looking spuds too!

Glad that RM has paid his overdue electricity bill so we can post again - phew :D

I like the look of razors with some colour to them. Why don't more manufacturers make coloured razors, not just the bakelite ones?
 
Instead of getting your real razors replated, you could get them colour anodised instead!

Anodised vintage razors will be the next big craze in shaving, even bigger than P.160 discontinuance. And it started right here on Paste & Cut, not over YKW.

Spoken like a true heavy metal freak.

Alternatively I could lend you (Jugster) one of the beautifully blue coloured two piece razors and if you like it you can keep it. Two piece razors are not the norm particularly in plastic. The only other one I know of is a bakelite Darwin.

Thursday. Not good. Was going to shave away from home today. 1st straight that came out of the rotation was an old Johnson. Had been honed and Stropped but as it had a lot of Devil Spit on it. Questioned Fate and took it anyway.
Wrong! Once WTG and .... Luckily had the Feather str8 and the ProGuard blade with me. Saved the day.
Soap. Prorazo Green Cream.
Hand lathered.

Gillette did make a locking DE razor for hospital and institutional use. Believe it was a standard superspeed with a key lock in the handle that prevented it from untwisting to open.
 
Writing about the razor; brought back memories about another of my all time favorites. The locking sheep skin lined leather belt with matching skin lined locking cuffs.
(Sorted career path.)

That's the picture borked posted above. I think it's colloquially known as the Gillette Psycho.

I finally gave up on that last scrap of Proraso soap and mashed it in with some other scraps creating a FrankenSoap.

Saturdays shave was as follows:

Gillette Black Plat 7 O'Clock
R41
Semogue Boar
Tobs Lemon Lime cream

I over creamed. Left with masses of the stuff on the brush, as I haven't used cream in months.

A good shave, a few nicks on the neck (old face) but lovely scent from the Lemon Lime.

I name it SpliceCream.
