I would have thought LAX would be taking the long way around. :unsure: Be that as it may, Gatwick was the best choice for me, as I didn't want the hassle of chasing across London to make a Heathrow connection. Been there, done that. A long wait in Dubai it is, but I think I'll pick up some Caol Ila and Port Charlotte to make it all worthwhile... :)

Very good Stainless Steel razor for USD $100. When I bought it, ATT even had free international shipping which made the deal even better.

Unfortunately, I have not tried any alternatives in the same price bracket such as RazoRock Gamechanger, Muhle Rocco R94 etc. , so I can not offer any comparison...

Check out the reviews under the Saftey Razor section, @Errol has a lot of great reviews including one for this razor. @nav1 also has a great review of it.

I'm still undecided whether or not I like this scent. I really didn't when I first opened the tub but it settled down after I shaved with it to the point where I can wear it but, it still remains a bit of a disappointment., I love B&M but I can't recommend this one.
 
I failed miserably this morning shaving with my Ralf Aust "6/8” America point full hollow.

I was trying my best to just remove the lather and not cut the whiskers. When wetting my face between passes and rinsing at the end, I noticed that my whiskers were being cut even closer than I would normally do.

The end result was one of the closest most comfortable shave that I can remember.

If you get the opportunity, try an S.K. Colling SR. They are on par with Ralf Aust or maybe a little better.

Unfortunately, although made in Proserpine, Qld, Colling SR's are currently hard to source new or used.

I actually had every intention on buying one a few months ago and when I finally bit the bullet, his website disappeared. I don't have facebook and after reading all what you went through, I've pretty much given up.

I'll keep my eye out, if one ever comes up used and I have the cash spare, I'll grab it but I'm not going to be chasing him for a new one unless his website comes back online.

I know, I know, I'm recycling yesterday's photo but the shave equipment didn't change! However, I'm liking this razor more and more especially now that I've swapped the ProGuard for straight Professional blades. This thing gives me a nice 2-pass (WTG, ATG) BBS-/DFS+ shave. I've still got to touch up the area around the goatee with my DE but I'm getting better. Only one weeper today and that was because I dug (like an idiot) to get at the hair at the bottom of my nose.

There really is something for feeling BBS cheeks throughout the day and that makes me happy.

@neongas what do you thing of Long Rifle? I've been looking at it but can't source it locally and am a bit hesitant to do a maggards/top of the chain order seeing as I've got a few soaps on the go at the moment.

I think Boker is doing some of the most beautiful straight razors right now. One day I'll get one with either abalone or paua.
