Simpson Luxury Shaving Cream Giveaway!

Dunno how it makes it to Tassie before Sydney - I really don't!

mmmmm Vetiver...... nice work. How does the Lavender smell?
The lavender smell is there but I thought quite subtle, my wife said it stank, nit sure if that was the lav or just the soap smell.

There is a local boutique soap maker we used to do some business with and everyone of their products reeks of lavender, quite off putting.

Mine has arrived, also got the Lavender & Vetiver (sorry, I will never call it 'Vetivert' like on the tin).

Funnily enough, this smells very similar to the Speick cream, although Speick has a few other component scents. It is not a ridiculously heavy lavender, and has the earthiness of the vetiver coming through. Definitely a CREAM and not a croap.

Very much looking forward to lathering with this in the morning. Hell I may not wait that long.

so c'mon fellas what's the Simpson's vertivert like out of the mug and on your mug?

Mine arrived today. Peppermint and Rosemary. Subtle sweet minty fragrance. A bit like spearmint. Should be nice and fresh on my face. Many thanks @Mark Watterson . Will try to use it in the next few days and provide a review.

Am still awaiting mine, with it being delivered to a corporate address, so am genuinely surprised as to not have received it as yet.

Depends, is our Federal Postal Service delivering to AWB or some other business headed up by Obeid or Di Girolamo?

I wish to reserve my judgement until I have a couple of shaves with it, I'll even try for some pictures. @Marlow there wont be any shots or video of me shaving so don't get too excited.

Oh, glenos. The back of your head is nice but come on mate.

Let us all see that soapy little face.

You are amongst Men, albeit of the not so gentle variety.

The earthiness of the Vetiver comes out as you mix it with water.

Fixed your horrible spelling mistake! It sure did explode in vetiver and lavender fell back to be awarded best supporting essential oil. I have all sorts of other scents that came out in the lathering this morning too - definitely some courmarin there which is classic fougere . While one dimensional in the tin, once you get working on it - wow.

Smells great, performance is right up there with the very best. First Shave review up later this afternoon but the tl;dr is:
  1. Smells decent out of the tin
  2. Smells better once lathered
  3. Some of the best lather I have ever got from a cream - on the first go
  4. Lathers like a demon - super concentrated stuff. Is thirsty as a result.
  5. 8th shave with a GPP and zero issues. No cuts, no burn, great shave.
  6. Minor quibbles from me on packaging, product size etc. It is still decent value even though it's a bit more exxy than TOBS and you get less (125ml vs 150ml for TOBS).
  7. I will be buying more. Only issue I have to work out the scents I want.
If you didn't get a tin of it, you should go and order one to try out. The only thing you won't like is the scent if you pick badly - if you are afraid of that then get the unscented.

My tin just arrived! Thanks Mark.

I received Cafe' Latte which is quite a coincidence as I just roasted a batch of greens and the whole house smells like a roastery.

This is maybe why the creams smells a little light on coffee aroma, but it smells very pleasant and rich.

I will give it a go "possibly" later as it is my day off and I usually don't shave today. But this stuff just looks really good.

@eggbert , at least I am not afraid to show my effeminate (eggy, wasn't game to say sexy) hairless, baby bum silky smooth legs.

Damn, that's what I was hoping for. Oh well, you aren't far away, we can do a swap at some stage if you are interested.

If it's anything like the Lavender/Vetiver combo then the scent will change on lathering. Oh, and go really easy on the amount used, buckets will be required to catch all the excess lather otherwise.

Sounds good Monsta.

I love Vetiver but don't really like Lavender but the mix could be ok.

I may have to drag myself to the bathroom...oops, I mean "Shave Den" soon and have a go.

Despite what lots of people say and the excitement of the DE shaving thing, I still find shaving a bit of a chore.

@Monsta_AU - that sounds like my experience of the cream - great product!
