Managed to restore the edge on this vintage frameback to a shave ready state. 3 x WTG = DFS+ not BBS and needs a bit more work.
First two passes were smooth and felt like I should apply more pressure for a BBS result but as soon as I did the careless mistakes started a nick here and there.

Preshave: cold water
Soap: Shaver Heaven Spiced Mahogany (WHAT a scent)
Brush: Cheap Shaver Shop badger
Straight: Dovo 5/8
Postshave: cold shower & alum block

Fantastic scent. Still lingering 90 minutes after my shower. Another big thumbs up to Shaver Heaven soaps.

A reminder for us all: if the shave isn't going quite right, REDUCE the pressure on the blade. The maxim applies to ALL types of razor. Carts have taught us all some bad habits.

Preshave: cold water
Soap: Shaver Heaven Sandalwood
Brush: can't remember but it is labelled Excelsior with clear Perspex handle with deep red at the top
Straight: can't remember but it has "KEEN as the razor's edge invisible" and from memory when I searched info when I purchased, it was made in the early 1880's - I never did narrow it down any further
Postshave: cold shower & alum block

As with all Shaver Heaven soaps a rich aroma and thick lather. Blade was good and every time you work with old machinery or tools there is a certain joy and pride in knowing the care and effort in maintaining a piece of nostalgia and history in this McDonald's throw-away age we live in. That is the joy of straight shaving summed up.
