I haven't found any local soaps here that would be worth the effort tracking down. There may be somehitng in the south island that I have missed, but it is a tiny market here so I'd be surprised.

@glenos hi my brother lives in Taranaki and ''swears'' by the 'shaving soap from www.lejonjon.co.nz They are Christchurch based and all ingredients are local!!

Yes, things are a tad sparse here.
You do get the odd soap maker selling at markets, etc. But a lot are just making plain old boring soap (not a proper shaving soap).
