Gentle shaving razor tip

Rockwell 2C.

Comes with the plate with settings 1 and 3.
You can't feel plate 1 but it may also be too mild of a shave.
Plate 3 is mild but shaves decently for light beards.

If you have the budget, just go for the 6C which has all 6 settings.

The Rockwell is honestly one of the smoothest razors out there and very versatile.

For a decent stainless steel quality product then the Razorock Mamba 53 might suit you.
I used mine for years (face went sensitive...age, paper thin skin, etc).
Only in the last few months have I moved up to the Lupo 72 (my new favourite).
So maybe the Mamba?
I put the 'Bamboo' handle on mine (for lighter weight) but there is a titanium handle available now too.
It would be a better buy than a zinc alloy (zamac/zamak) which is a poo material at best.

I would consider Henson I think it weighs about 80 grams but it seems more manageable. Of the other razors I do not know the weight.
I don't know where you got 80 grams for the Henson from. It's lightweight aluminium and comes in at 38.5 grams. You won't get much lighter than that.

Hi @lozioditalia
I suggest you look up the (The Goodfellas' smile Valynor razor) its made of aluminium and brass and made in Italy.
I believe its a milder razor and it weighs 78 grams.
From what you have said this razor maybe what you are looking for.
Available new and used (if you wish to save a few euro) Its a higher priced razor If new but you save a
fair bit if you can get one used.
Cheers

@Vittoria, excellent suggestion.

@Errol's suggestion for the Yintal is super as it is affordable and top notch in quality.

@lozioditalia , I'm going to steer this in a different direction. My first razor that I moved to from Cartridges was the Leaf Twig, the mechanism died and so did my interest in the Razor though it was okay as a shaver. I did try a friend's Henson and though it was alright, found it boring. But yeah the Henson Mild won't hurt you even if you try to cut yourself intentionally.

My picks for a milder Razor would be -

1. Henson Mild V2
2. Yates Precision Winning version 2
3. The Rockwell 6 C, won't break the Bank and you can dial up or down with the aggression as there are 6 plates to choose from. It is lighter than the Rockwell 6S and glides better due to the shiny chrome coating ( At least for me).
4. My Top pick and still a razor I love to bits is the Muhle R89 Twist, Excellent handle and a beautiful shaver, great for beginners and fun for experienced shavers. Knock a Voshkod into it and you have a mild and smooth shave, throw in a Wizamet and you get a smooth and sharp shave. If you don't like the Twist function get the Grande Version. Take care of it and it will last a long long time.

Whatever you choose mate, spend a bit of time with the razor, find the blades that work best for you in it and enjoy the shaves.

The price went up again to 16 € I will wait for it to come down again. For about 13.91 € including shipping this razor seems like a wonder to me. I like the design and the pattern of the razor finished well, hope it is lightweight.

I will not buy the suspicious razor clones even to try it. I saw that on Aliexpress the Muhle Rocca Rocca also has the logo written on it. It's amazing all this.
Mate that Rocca is original, it isn't a clone buddy. I have a pal who recently received his R94 From Aliexpress and it is 100 percent original. If you have doubts then don't use Aliexpress, just get the razor of your choice from one of the online dealers in Australia.

Ahh, good suggestion. I own one of these myself and highly recommend one.

I'm not saying that I don't like to buy on Aliexpress, because there are products that are cheap and are very good.I'm saying you have to be careful because the Muhle Rocca sold there is fake, that is, counterfeit as are all the other razors that copy the Henson, Merkur Progress 500 and Syntesi.
Thank you all for your advice, I am still taking some time to decide maybe a Razorock mamba might do the trick, I have to decide.
Happy shaving gents.

It's not clear whether some of those razors on the Chinese site are imitations or are original, some in other forums write that they are original, others that they are not legitimate razors. If I have to spend a lot of money on a razor I prefer to buy from shops where they certify that the razor is new and original.

But I decided to get another razor from Aliexpress, Dscosmetics model Il T7-SE3 DS. They write that it is the legitimate copy of the Mamba 70 razor.
This one click here

I don't care if it is from a brand or without a brand. Is this model a really mild razor? I don't like the handle but I can buy another one and change it.
Can I trust the reviews presented there? Many write smooth and soft shave.

There are lots of things I would be wary of buying from AliExpress, as I have seen far too many really obvious knockoffs. But for a Chinese brand, it's probably safe enough to try. That price is hard to beat, so it might be worth the experiment, depending on your finances. You could just buy it, and if you don't like the razor, just throw it in the bin.

Mate, you do have a point. So there is a dealer that does sell the genuine ones but they use the real names as in The Goodfellas Smile Syntesi , Muhle Rocca R94, Henson AL 13 etc. these are at prices closer to the original but due to bulk buying they can cut profits and offer better pricing.

I did go with your note on this and contacted a few sellers callig the Henson - Canadian Razor, The Tatara - Nodachi Razor, The Muhle - German R94 etc and I received replies from two of them stating, THIS IS AN EXQUISITE COPY, so while I did appreciate their honesty, I fell off my chair laughing. To be fair, this is downright copyright theft without the actual tight tolerances or build quality of the originals. Also, received a note from Nicola Donghi, the owner of TGS cautioning members that the Syntesi copy in the Chinese market is in no way connected to them but a rip off.

While these copyright and design thieves exist, I would blindly trust Yaqi and DSCosmetic who not only deliver quality products but also do work for some of our best loved razor companies including Machining some razors and parts in Canada. Reach out to them and they are always helpful with queries, that has always been my experience.

Had a Chat with Taibo Song or Mike who owns Shield Razors after I saw clones of his work and he said that there is no way he could do anything about it but had just accepted the fact that, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

I own and will still buy products only from these companies on Aliexpress - YAQI, DScosmetic, Oumo, Arno Brush, Frank Shaving, Yintal and even the GDMG Brush Company. Top notch products always from them. For me even the Yaqi Zamak heads are real quality and top value.

Not anymore mate, some of their premium stuff like the German 37 Slant, Yaqi's Floating Head Razor, The Torqx or the Avanti all in 316 Stainless Steel cost a premium price and they are fantastic razors.

1. The Yaqi German 37 Slant - Merkur made them for themselves for coles and for Hoffritz. Then changed their design to make it more forgiving. Razorock picked up the old design and made the German 37 in zamak. Fans asked for an SS version but instead Razorock embarked on the Wunderbar and Super Slant journey. In steps Yaqi to fill in that void with the SS version of the original Merkur design with a few tweaks.

1. The Yaqi Floating Head Razor wasn't copied but since it isn't available anymore Josh Perkins (Subieshaves on youtube) sent his razor and asked them to build an SS version of it, they tweaked it or modified it as they do and now lesser mortals like me can afford one without having to pay the crazy asking price for the Barbasol original when it pops up on the Bay.

2. The Yaqi Torqx shaves close to the Home Like Shaving Elbrus. The HLS razor is one I was after for quite awhile and so is our Razor Review guru @Errol. With the War on the chances of getting the Elbrus are very slim but the Torqx makes it possible to experience a shave close to the HLS beaut.

3. The Yaqi Avanti is like the 316 SS version of the Merkur Progress that fans were craving for over the years. It is more efficient and aggresive than the German Zamak adjustable. The only alternative before this was the modified Zamak Mergress. for me in value The Avanti is streets ahead. Saw a lot of Wet Shavers complain about the Avanti copying the Merkur but then doesn't every Timeless Razor Head look like The Progress from the Side or for that matter, doesn't teh Parker variant OC resemble the Timeless razors from the side.

To me, Yaqi has upped their game and keeps coming out with quality products based on customer feedback and suggestions. Every review done by Errol of their razors has been taken very seriously too. DSCosmetic may be languishing behind but their S9 once considered a Game Changer copy, makes the Razorock one bite the dust with it's scalloped top cap and better efficiency. Yintal Still offers a quality Brass razor at a fraction of the cost that big brands do and every Yaqi or FS synthetic Brush I have are some of the best performers in my den.

Chinese sellers on Aliexpress with weird shop names or numbers in heir title are frauds for sure but the Big Brands there take their stuff seriously.

I didn't quite understand your comment. But I've seen a lot of strange stuff sold there, yes I don't trust it. Do they also sell soaps? Have you happened to buy from them?

Forgive me but I am not very informed Shield Razors is the same manufacturer of Boti Brush or Boti Shaving?
So Taibo Song who most of us know as Mike, used to design razors for Boti. He then branched out on his own and set up Shield Razors.
All his designs and metals used etc are top notch. He even sells SV, PAA and Gentleman's Nod soaps, all.are original. Sonare the Omega Evo brushes he sells.

Now Mike is Chinese but some guys in his own country have started copying his designs and are selling them way cheaper, the difference being that they don't use his Brand name but will title their copies as Aluminum Razor or 316 Razor etc.

Hope that helps mate. A few of us have Shield Razors and love them, specially his Titanium and Stainless Steel ones. His Brass AC razor is one of the best I have ever used but sadly he has discontinued the manufacture of Brass Razors.

This is beautiful to tell and read... Chinese people imitating another Chinese! only this was missing.

Are these the copies of Shiel razors ?
