Troy Tools Custom Brush Handles

giphy.gif
Nothing to be confused about here (other than a big reel-to-reel in a room with no speakers ), Troy makes the best damn brush handles in Australia, and arguably the world. The green and copper handle a couple of posts back remind me of a CaYuen brush that I gave away a while back (and less closely, another that I still have), but the quality of Troy's work is streets ahead of the (equally expensive) offering.

Don't forget my fav - Vazon Forest. Still love that the most. Oh yeah and the one that @LesC and @Nanook have - Gold Flake crown and strip on a Jarrah hardwood base. These two Brush Handles are priceless.

Oh, very nice!

A big handle for a 28mm knot.
This one has aluminium plates cast into the resin blank when poured.
For the purpose of strength and longevity, the plates have holes drilled through the centre to allow the resin to connect right through the handle, top to bottom.
This also helps secure the whole assembly against any twisting of the parts.
I do like the look of synthetics in this one for some reason.
Nothing glued in yet though.

Given this worked out so well, I have another colour combo in mind for this style now.
Stay tuned.

@TroyTools, Mate you working on other color combos with this one. Simplistic yet unique and classy.

I sure am, it hasn't been turned yet, but the blank is ready. It is a solid red with brass plates in it, similar to the black / aluminium that @Nanook now owns.
Wouldn't surprise me if both were gone.. curious to see what's currently available.
If you take a look on my FB page CLICK HERE, I try to keep up with marking each handle as SOLD when it's gone. If not commented as SOLD, then I probably still have it. (BTW, there's alot in stock, and many handles without a knot glued in yet also, so customer's knot choice is still available)

Thank you so much for the kind words gents, I really appreciate it. :)
Come to think about it, it has been a little while since I've turned a hande. I've been busy trying to work my through reducing the amount of timber I have here by making beautiful things out of it.

I do have 2 brush orders at the moment though, and one wood blank is nearly ready to go onto the lathe (waiting on resin insert to fully cure), so it's the next one to be seen here on this page.
And then a very special custom handle, but that one is a surprise until revealed.

Sadly, I'm one of those people that don't have FB, although the better half does.
I might have to have a peek via her as FB Demands I sign in if I want to view anything.

Do you have a 'current stock' picture? Or would the recent posts be what's in?

If you scroll a little way down on my FB page to August 2024 you can see pics of current stock there, completed brushes. Bare handles are the most recent pics as i haven't glued any knots for a while, as leaving options open for buyers. This will change soon however, they will all get a synthetic knot glued in, when I get time.
