Mr. Strop
Thanks to the benevolence of @LesC, I have a much sort after Gold Dollar 66 straight razor up for grabs. This razor is in almost as-new condition and has been honed by me to shave ready, finishing on my Jnat unknown Kyoto whetstone. The save test showed that the edge is almost as keen as a diamond pasted balsa edge but much more comfortable to shave with.
The blade's face is missing the original Gold Dollar markings as they came off while I was cleaning the blade with acetone
. Lesson learnt. The blade's stabiliser has been removed.
To shave with this razor all you need is a shaving brush, shaving soap, clean leather strop (or a couple of sheets of newspaper) and my SR shaving instructions.

Condition:
This straight razor is in almost as-new condition. It has been used just a couple of times. I have refreshed the blade's edge on a Jnat unknown Kyoto whetstone and given it the ultimate test, a shave test. It was found to be most satisfactory and its edge has then been refreshed. The finish quality is up to manufacturer's normal standard, which is not that high.
Note: This straight razor is suitable for a beginner into the gentlemanly art or a more experienced SR shaver who wants to experience one of my edges off a Jnat unknown Kyoto whetstone.
Honing:
The razor has been honed from bevel set (without tape) to my standard of shave-ready. The edge has been finished on a Jnat unknown Kyoto whetstone.
Rules:
1. This PIF is open to P&C members worldwide, even if you have been a lucky recipient of one of my other PIFs.
2. You must have been a member of P&C on 222 March 2025.
3. The winner is to pay postage within 72 hours of winning (see postage rates below).
4. This PIF remains open until won.
How to enter:
This PIF requires some skilful guessing. I have thought of a number between 1 and 20 inclusive. You need to guess that number (a whole number and it is not 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 11, 14, 18 or 20 that won previous PIFs). You are allowed multiple guesses however each of your guesses must be at least 24 hours apart. To win this PIF, just post "I'm in" with your guess of the number. [e.g., I'm in 14]. First to guess the correct number will win.
If you find that this SR is not for you, all I ask is that you return the razor to me. I will then refresh the blade's edge and PIF it to another member.
