; WOW, in all my years wet shaving I finally get to use the SPOILER (thanks to P&C member @tim33z in the BST), 1st use I feel as sharp as a Gillette Nacet but smooth like a Bic Chrome Platinum, really enjoyed. Great SV lather from the Chubby, finished off with the SV Tundra Artica milk/balm. Very pleasant shave, now looking forward to see how many shaves I get per blade!!

Home again, home again, hippity-hip...

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Pears soap
Brush: TroyCraft "Opalesque"
Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Razor: Tatara Amakuni
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: TND witch hazel/Stirling Bergamot Lavender witch hazel (70:30), homebrew moisturiser, Oxford & Cambridge cologne

I didn't set out with this in mind, but consecutive days with same blade and soap are as close as I will ever get to a back-to-back comparison of Vector and the Amakuni, for anyone who's interested. I mention this because the two share similarly compact heads (the Amakuni's is thinner, but fractionally longer to mask the corners of the blade).

Buying the Amakuni was always a gamble given @Errol's less than rapturous review, but I was content to take the risk. The Amakuni gives a lot less blade feel than the Vector, but this morning I found the Portuguese razor delivered at least as slick a shave in pretty much exactly the same time. I hadn't expected that. Go figure. I have a suspicion that the smoothness of the Amakuni may, in time, edge out La Faulx in my den. I hadn't expected that either...

Brush:- Omega MB1899 Black Resin 24/53mm knot Elite Fibre Synth.
Soap/Cream:- Haslinger Schafmilch Sheep Milk & Lanolin (tallow)
Razor/Blade:- BIC 1 Sensitive Disposable Cartridge Razor #1
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Plunkett's Vita E Pure with Rosehip Oil (10 drops), Natural Plant Glycerine (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)

I'm still in rehabilitation spinal hospital, glad to get away from this stupid airy can shaving cream that I really hated so much, and STILL hate disposable cartridge razor. Unfortunately I don't have a bloody choice, it's against the hospital rule, that I must use a disposable cartridge razor.

I'm fine, can't leave yet, still strictly between the physiotherapy and the spinal specialist, getting better slowly and walking.

A man of your calibre could take over the hospital with a DE razor blade. I’m not surprised they won’t let you have one.
Looking forward to seeing you back to your old self keeping things real on the forums.
Hang in there @SpeedyPC
A big get well cheers to you
