Lather Shots

I have just finished reading every single post in the thread, what a trove of information. I’m looking forwards to seeing what I can do now.

I used my Razorock Plissoft 24mm and Washpool soap again in a bowl tonight.
The first photo is after loading. I was in a rush and the second photo is what I started to shave with. I realised it was too dry, and the third photo is what I was happy with.

I agree, that shine on the lather is the best sign that you've got it right. (However, that maxim fails with some great soaps that don't obey the rules, eg Meißner Tremonia...)

The photos looked a bit different in person, the second photo really wasn’t that shiny at all, and I didn’t notice the bubbles in the third photo. My main concern was that the lather just seems like glue, like my razor was fighting through it instead of gliding

TroyCraft / Noble Otter

This brush is beautiful, as well as sumptuously soft, like lathering with a cloud. However, I don't end up using it as much as I should, because it's a brutal lather hog. I often have to resort to giving the knot a good squeeze to get enough lather to finish the shave.

Palmolive cream , Razorock Plissoft Brush

Not a huge amount of lather today, I need to squeeze a bit more into the bowl next time. Very quick to whip up though.

Mate I only face lather, but FWIW I’d be happy with that on the old dial
