Hi there and greetings from Melbourne.

Started DE shaving since last November, initially thought of swapping over from electric razor to DE to save cost, but that boat has sailed LONG time ago. Was previously using a Braun 5 series, not much to complain about, it's just boring I guess. Then stumbled across an article "Learn to shave like your grand pa", and here I am DE wet shaving.

Current arsenal list below:
  1. Merkur 34c
  2. Proraso Red (not quite a fan of the scent)
  3. TOBS Sandalwood Cream
  4. DR Harris Lavender and Arlington
  5. DR Harris Rose cream
  6. Feather blades
  7. iKon B1 OSS
  8. iKon B1 Slant
  9. Omega 48
  10. Simpson Chubby 2 Best Badger
It started off as just one item, then the more you surf sites like Badger and Blades, and recently this site, the more you have things to want to try out. Really keen on getting a Semogue Owners club, as I really liked the Omega 48, just that the handle's a little to big and loft is too high. Not so looking forward to going through the wet boar stench though.
Recently got the Chubby, having a hard time getting consistent lather on 2rd and 3rd pass with the Arlington, read somewhere, perhaps reloading the brush would help. Might try other creams or soap.

Pleased to meet you all, glad to be on this community.

Welcome Silver!

I just signed up yesterday and looks like we both got bitten by the same bug at the end of last year.... the bug must've bit you harder though, a fantastic armoury you've built up already!

Thanks Scotty! Yes, it has bitten me so hard. But I guess that should set me up for a while now, still contemplating on that semogue, maybe next time. Ha! Blue steel!

Welcome to the Aussie Wet Shaving Club brother ;)

Please don't forget to tryout the Shaver Heaven Shaving Soaps because these are 100% Aussie made soaps made by @Anthony see web link and help support our Aussie locals (y) Fantastic price must cheaper than oversea made shaving soaps and this will save you lots of money in the long term future.

Welcome mate - as others have said, some nice kit there!

If you want to add to it check out @stillshunter's B/S/T offering - Small den clearance. Bit of a bargain at $66 for the lot.

Not that we are enablers here at all ... ;)

Welcome! I can certainly vouch for the SOC. Great brush & the only boar I'll ever need going forward.

Hey @silver! Ex Braun series 5 user here too! Welcome to the mad house.

Merkur 34c & Feathers are also my staple. I've been trying a lot of new blades lately (about 10 or so) but keep coming back to feathers in this razor.
TOBS Sandalwood - on my list to buy/try!

Haha glad to be in the mad house! It's really untouched now, thinking of putting it up for sale.

Yeap, merkur 34c and feathers work for me. But since last week during shaver hut's sale, I bought an ikon OSS, and a slant head. The OS's gave me a very close shave, slight irritation. But I noticed I liked cold shaving better than hot. My skin is much more durable than using hot water. Any one else here CWS?

I'm thinking of trying the personna blues, to be used with the slightly more aggressive razors. I have to be very focused while using the slant.

Oh! TOBS sandalwood is really nicely scented. Sandalwood + rose.

Mine is quite old, getting on about 6 years I think. Still going strong, just in need of another foil replacement ($75) and that was the catalyst to spend on a DE starter kit...

Hi @silver and welcome to P&C. Great to hear you're enjoying your wet shaving experience 3 months in. It certainly is less boring than using an electric shaver. [emoji6]

What are you using for post-shave? Splash? Balms? Colognes?

I use Cold Water during summer and warm water during winter. I use a pre-shave soap and wet face washer (with either cold/warm water depending on the season). Wait until winter hits before you right off using CW only. [emoji6]
