It's funny how this shaving caper works, but over time your technique subconsciously improves. You'll find that razors that you previously felt were too efficient or harsh on the face, after leaving a few months and then returning to use, will feel a lot different. Some razors also will click much better with a different blade. This all means that you don't ditch a razor too quickly (if it's one that you like the feel or looks of but it "doesn't work"), as after a break it may very well work beautifully for you the next time around.

@Hocky27 as a strict rule is never discuss what's really going on inside the Lodge unless a person is truly a Mason ;) and I am very private which mean I can't tell you ;)

Out of curiosity, are you involved with recruitment for the Masons?

No I am a Master Mason which mean I am not an recruitment for another words I am not an apprentice, does that make sense to you.

Sunday shaves are a pleasure. Three pass shave that was pure bliss. The scent of this soap is complex and performance is excellent. Thirsty and needs water but great slickness and cushion. The razor/blade combination has provided me with an irritation free and BBS shave. Set on 1.5 with the feather it was so smooth and so sharp with a feeling of total control. @filobiblic words are ringing in my ears. I returned to this razor , which I had put aside for so long due to poor shaves, and now it is giving me superb shaves. What a difference time and learned technique can make. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Quick 2 pass before heading out. Very impressed with the Timor blade on second use. First was unimpressive, but today was very comfortable.

If anyone knows another artisan that makes a balm/milk like Jabonman would certainly love to hear about it.

Took the Hoshi back to the 1k. I was not happy with the edge so unconvinced the bevel was set. Better job this time now I am aware of the extra hardness. Edge is vastly superior. BBS straight off the home this time. Still room for improvement but excellent none the less.

The white dot at the bottom of the soap is doubling in size each shave. I hope to be posting my inaugural post in the finished products sticky this week.

Nice shave this afternoon hadn't used MWF for a long time wasn't to happy with the slickness of the soap maybe I've been spoilt lattely with all the artisan soap/creams I've been using which are excellent to many to mention in this post.

Wasn't happy with this razor after my last hone: tugging and not very close. Lapped my hones this morning and gave it another go through the 1,000, 3,000, 8,000 progression and wow; what a difference. Razor is sharp and very efficient.

Don't know why I bowl lathered today and to be honest, I don't even know if I bowl lathered properly. One thing is certain though, even with my lack of skill in and practice in bowl lathering, it certainly helped improve my shave with this soap. My other soaps face lather well so I just never bothered bowl lathering before so always stated although Johnny Good Sir gave a decent lather, it just wasn't "up there" with some other artisan soaps. Well after the bowl lather today I'll eat my own words, Thick and slick. With a freshly honed blade I've had a great shave today. Changed the oil in the 4WD, mowed the yard, cut my hair, shaved and now the Brisbane Bears, sorry, Lions are playing on the TV. What could be better?

Eleventh shave in with the Kamisori. Nothing better than a nice relaxing Sunday shave especially when it's cold outside while being nice and toasty in the bathroom. Three pass shave of which I felt like I hit every pass pretty well. I'm really gaining confidence now being able to put together a few back to back nick free BBS shaves in a row. As I've previously posted I've been using my non master (left) hand for anything that I could use either hand for however I think I might have to use my right a little bit more as my left is starting to feel more comfortable to use than my right. First world problems I know!

The highlight of this shave was Sensei @Draco Noir giving me some Boellis Napoli 1924 soap to use, he'd said I was in for a treat so I've been waiting till it felt like the right time to try it out and today was that day. I was not disappointed, it lathered up a treat producing a nice slick, glossy, protective, covering that left my skin feeling great with virtually no irritation whatsoever.

Although I've probably moved passed getting big improvements with each shave, I'm finding this phase of trying to be consistent and fine tuning to be immensely rewarding. :)

I love this brush. I'll do a full write up of it soonish, but for now I cannot speak highly enough of it. A perfect blend of backbone and softness.
The 42 is a fantastic B&M scent with the new formula. So so good.
I had one of my better shaves with the R41. It's still not 100% perfect, but I can tell that it really suits me. A steeper angle gave a near BBS in one pass. I should have stopped at 2 passes. The third was unnecessary and gave me one or two weepers. The biggest problem with this razor is that I won't need to shave for a few days.
 
I have been practicing with my Coticule hone and missing a shave or two along the way. I have decided [for me] the Coticule mystique is basically BS. I looked at some historical literature and the stones were very often used as a finishing stone only and on oil. My coticule will never be abused by water and slurry again.
I took one of my known blades and dulled it and then took it on oil through my Arkansas stones and finished on the Coticule with mineral oil. The edge was/is staggeringly good and was so easy to obtain. The coticule on oil is a fantastic finishing hone.

Soap was Proraso Red.

Great write-up, @Osman. I am really enjoying the PAA A/S's at the moment. How would you describe the scent and performance of the Otra?

The scent is complex. Initial scent of rose but the earthy fougere sits underneath. The rose disipates after a few hours and the earthy fougere begins to dominate. Five hours later the scent is still going strong. This is a cologne that gives all day. The soap is a perfect match. Great product.
