Couldn't resist using the Paladin today although it probably needed another couple of break in lathers. It feels fantastically soft. A little less backbone than my Shavemac 2 band, nice bit of scrub, but zero scritch. It created a superb lather with the 42.
It took me a while, but I think I've tamed the iKon Slant now. Consistent BBS with no irritation. An excellent razor.

Brush and blade on point. This exact combination of brush colour and slant blade is on my wish list currently.

Thanks for sharing, I think I might just pop one in the cart the next time I'm shopping there, going to get the Tabula Rasa too, @Psmith generously gave me a sample, the cardamom shaving soap smells really good.

2 passes high on excitement. DFS- no cuts or irritation but not as close as my Japanese folding Kamisori sent by @Draco Noir. The blade was insanely sharp but felt thick, even a bit dull. A bit deceptive really as the whiskers fell without effort. Feedback though from the blade was not very high. I really enjoy wafer thin blades that chatter like Velcro being pulled apart.

I've done it once or twice when I was in a hurry. Maybe I need to try it again.

The No4 is, after a hone and only one shave an excellent edge to run across your face. It is very light, so not the typical alloy so I will be interested to see how long it holds the edge. It took an edge fast and fuss free on the 1K Naniwa Chosera / Vintage JNat. I prefer a deeper blade but this one being so light is very nimble. So far, very happy with my purchase.

Post shave: Dickinsons Witch Hazel, Nivea balm and Captains Choice Bay Rum.
Two pass shave with a touch up. First use of the Maggards synthetic and this is a synthetic that has backbone. Tips are nice and soft and it sucks up the lather. It lathered up the Phoenix and Beau with very little effort. The handle reminds me of the Kent brush handles. The Phoenix and Beau is another great artisan made soap. Today was a face lather with no problems. I was provided with a thick, creamy lather that provide me with excellent protection throughout the shave. Post shave was also a winner with a soft smooth and moisturised face the end result. The scent, once lathered, bring out all the components listed on the scent profile. You can smell the leather and the Juniper(green) and some tobacco.

I've been hankering for a Kamisori shave for a while now, so today was the day. The lather department delivered in spades today - a big, rich lather with a nice high water content, made all the nicer by the restrained pine forest scent of the Tim's soap.

The Cedric Christ Kamisori was chosen by chance - I put my hand into the Kamisori box and drew out the first one I contacted. Unsurprisingly, the Kami gave me a beautiful shave with a minimum of effort.

The usual finishing products were used, with Tom Ford's Noir Extreme the fragrance for today. Another very classy and long lasting fragrance, this was the result of an idle fragrance sampling session with @Osman, graciously catered for by David Jones ;)

I rarely do ATG. I don't have any problems doing it with the straight but find that after about an hour and this is just my observation with the straight the shave is more than smooth enough. I'm basically DFS every time with a straight on the first pass so just use a mixture of strokes to find errant whiskers that need lopping. I don't aim for any particular finish but happily always achieve a pleasing result with 2 passes. I confess to no longer fussing over that small whisker or two that demands multiple passes with the consequence of too much irritation.

Whipped up a good lather today. Ever since using lighter and less dense brushes, seems more work to use the Chubby than the others. But it's a beast of a brush seriously.

Ever since I got used to the slant, the Standard takes more work to get a closer shave but not quite as close as the slant. On the plus it's easier on the skin. Scored two nicks trying to shave a little closer. Hmm just have to learn to take it easier. I noticed for some reason, one side of the razor exposed more blade than the other. Looked at the head where the blade is secured, seems like there are some glue stuck from the Feather blades. Gave the head a good brush with soap, seems to be more leveled now. Will find out tomorrow!

I think the last Super Blue Blade I used was from '77 and it was way sharper than this '59 (Not a surprise), however, the later performed the job with an acceptable amount of sharpness.

I switch out my blade every 4 shaves, today was that day. An extra thick warm lather of an old favorite (TOBS) for the added protection resulted in a nice, clean BBS.
