Thursday here. Warm morning, took my daughter and her friend to swim lessons. Possible thunder showers and a slight chance for a few small tornados. No they're not something common here.
Nice shave. Used my new to me "Bengall" eBay buy this week.cleaned up nicely and honed well.
Arko Soap Stick
Badger brush
Alum
Aqua Velva
Nivea balm
Nice shave surprised that the razor did so well!

Up early this morning.

A two pass BBS shave with
Simpson Duke 2
Cella Sapona
Dovo Best Quality Straight
Nivea Post Shave Balm
Proraso After Shave

I enjoy the almond scent of the Cella.

Sunbird

Round two with the Travel Tech. As before, got a reasonable shave but it isn't what you'd call comfortable to use. I think other than the lack of weight the big thing I notice is that the handle diameter is to small which makes it uncomfortable to hold (and I have small hands- it would likely be worse for people with larger hands).

Will give it one more shave before I switch back to a 'proper' sized safety.

Been using the same G blueue for a total of 12 shaves, it was definitely getting duller but still felt good to use. The last three shaves with the blade, I used what I guess is a superspeed flair tip from Gt's pif. This feels a milder razor than the #70 and I enjoyed using it.

Today, Tabac, boar, green superstainless (#2) in the flair, WH. Very nice and easy shave.

12 SHAVES??? :weird:

Here's me throwing them after just four!

I have about 102.5 years worth of shaves in my stash of 4,000 blades @ 3 shaves per week, getting 4 shaves per blade (39 blades per year). At 12 shaves per blade, that's 13 blades per year.... and my 4,000 blades would last 307 years.

The last couple of days it was growing duller rapidly. It needed a slow down on the razor hand to get the job done.

Standard blade I get 3-4 shaves from, the blueus (and this is their best feature in them for me, the first 2 shaves aren't really good...) I get at least 6 shaves from.
Depends on razor, prep and passes per shave though.
Using them for 4 shaves seems counterproductive as longevity is their best asset.

I feel the 'travel size' razors comical as the full size ones aren't that big. I don't mind the 'full size' (massive 3") ball end tech occasionaly. "Feather' brand made their own modern version of it too. Not bad for people shaving every day with either thin beards or willing to use the feather blade if they have a thick beard. Doesn't do much for me without a sauna for prep when using a regular sharpness blade though.

I find at the end of the 4th shave then the shave quality falls off a cliff. Maybe I am using them more aggressive than most and dull them quicker?

Anyway, the 1976 Spoiler had it's 6th shave today. Really got the Proraso Red dialled in today and decided to try ATG on that triangle area under my chin. Turned the fatboy back to 3 and and gave it a go.

Lets just say that no blood was spilt, even on the 6th shave with the blade. It performed very well overall, however I was getting some problems on my neck during the XTG pass with blade skipping. Slowing down helped and I kept going. These are the most amazing blades I have ever used - and that is one from a pack included with a razor!

I am going to see how long I can get out of it, but I suspect another 2 weeks / 6 shaves is very possible. They don't make them like these anymore.

Amazing shave.

La Toja with a Shark after a week off shaving.

Not very satisfying.

Fifth shave on a bleue. I don't feel I can get much more out of this blade.
Using the proraso red which I love. Drubs you have no chance getting this off me.

Using the tobs Eton as. Love the smell.

As per yesterday tabac, boar, gillette ss, but a 7oC yellow (instead of green). Pretty good but the green is better (and sharper) I think.

John's mate your a lucky bastard mate got a watch list on ebay at the moment for w&b 8/8

But just seems to be a lot of junk going at the moment. And filly just seem to be getting a little cheaper atm

Tabac, and gillette ss.

28th 7oC yellow (#2)
29th 7oC green (#3)
Today back to yellow (#3) green is definitely sharper, yellow is getting duller but still well shaved.

switch back to (#4) green 7oC again, also dulling, few extra minutes touching up. I think thats enough for this blade.

First shave for 4 or 5 days (lucky I have the sort of job that no one really cares) - anyway returned to the Tabac with the boar brush - 2nd shave with the SE blade in the Featerweight followed as usual with the Slim DE set to 7 and an Indian Wilkinson. I remain amazed at how light the DE feels after the SE has done its mowing. I get the impression I can scrub the DE in any and all directions (and I do) with no possibility of a nick or cut. I do the lot with the DE, after a re-lather WTG XTG ATG (sometimes all in one stoke!). If I dont leave my next shave for so long nexttime I will return to straight DE shaving and start using some of my blades. (I just find it very hard to resist the sounds of the SE blade moving through a good thickness of beard and then the freedom with the DE to do pretty much whatever I like) - Only thos who have tried the TM will, hopefully understand the feeling.

Gillette Rocket HD with Astra SP
Semogue 1470
TOBS Sandalwood cream
TOBS Sandalwood aftershave gel

Thought I'd give grandpa's razor a go.

Holy crap, what an awesome razor. Absolutely amazed.

Using the EJ (regardless of blade) I'd find that a WTG pass and a ATG pass works well for me. Using the Rocket, there was basically nothing left for the ATG pass to pick up!

Shave felt great, very smooth and comfortable to use too.

Thanks for choosing to buy such a great razor grandpa :)
