Simpson commodore x 1

@Osman is the man to ask because he owns a Simpson Commodore best badger and he love it so much ;)(y)

For what it's worth. I had the X2 and found the knot a little too small/weak compared to something like the Duke or Classic 2

I have the X2 in best badger and it is a great brush. Soft tips good backbone and easy to use. Very high quality brush. X2 is as small as I would go in a brush but you may have your reasons for the smaller brush. I would certainly recommend a Simpsons brush.

But is it a reliable brush. Quality?

The less dense (cheaper) Simpsons are more reliable IMO. Easier to build a better knot when there's less hair stuffed in it. But obviously will be missing the firmness of the dense ones. I think a Classic 1 is a better buy.

I echo what @Osman stated, I also have the X2 and it's absolutely awesome!
Bought one for me and one for my father, who also loves his X2.

I used to have the X1 and loved it. I actually regretted selling it and when I went to buy another, I got the X2 as it was on sale but even the X1 held enough lather for my 2.5 passes.

so here it is. I got it in the post at the beginning of November. Lathers well. Feels good and is a good size. I thought it would be too small but it's just right.

@Dan.05 great brush!
I agree the size is deceptive.
It holds a ton of lather!

Yes it does and it's smaller size also allows me to lather up under the nose without ending up with a nostril full of proraso......
