So this sabbatical, this is genuine? Why not just bang your head against a wall till you pass out repeating I will not spend money - or simply realise you can circumvent the pain and guilt by exercising will power. I "will" buy in 2017. You are destined to fail. Face it, you are a wet shaver trying to convince yourself this saves you money.

I will say @filobiblic just be like me and accept the fact you will be buying more shaving gear next year. life is easier that way

It not about the money, I just want to slow down and enjoy what I have. Thought the idea would be neat.

If you guys need a "support group" then I'll send out for some fluffy pillows, some comfort dogs and maybe even someone to give you a hug. Come on man up. If you have a problem over spending -- and we all do at times.

Well, this is not really intended as a support group. Just a bit of lighthearted fun. It's a interesting experiment on my part as I never had much restraint. I don't think there was any whining at any point last year. But I may have joined a bit late and missed the fireworks.

Personally I have spent too much this year. It hasn't hurt us financially and we are not struggling as a result but I have come to the realization that I need to show some restraint and this has already begun. I can't say that I won't buy anything shaving related in 2017 because I know I will, definitely not as much as in 2016 though.
What did you get? I placed my last soap order yesterday so am good to go.

Perhaps I could go 12 months without buying a brush? I am only averaging 2-3 a month at the moment.....
Soap? I think I have enough to get me by for a while LOL. Otherwise I know a guy that makes some really really good quality soap here in SA
