Birthday shave!
The soap and splash arrived today, courtesy of @stillshunter, and both performed admirably. The scent on the soap is mellow, but nice and the splash smells just lovely.
I wasn't really sure which razor/blade I wanted to go with, but eventually settled on the slim (4) with personna red.
Clean shaven and smelling fine for dinner and drinks with friends.

First time trying Arko, which was the main reason for buying the job lot from @Cris! I actually really liked it. Good protection and slickness, although not as slick as my lanolin soaps. Thickens up into a nice yoghurt for many passes.
Yes the smell is reminiscent of fresh urinal puck but I don't mind it - it's clean. It would annoy me after awhile though so I will let this one air out.
Used the BIC for a laugh but got a 3 pass BBS shave so can't complain. Didn't last long that way though...

Tabac lather is hard to beat. Three passes for a lovely BBS shave. The Personna '74 remains sharp and smooth. Nada irritation, and great post shave feel. The Myrsols were not really needed this evening.

A Sunday shave... leisurely, relaxed, well paced with hot coffee and pastries to follow. Really no better way to spend a Sunday morning than doing something as enjoyable as working a lather from a handmade soap and enjoying the fragrance suffuse throughout the bathroom - Manuel's dark Chypre (Sheepr) is one of my favorites with it's deep fern - hints of labdanum and myyrh with a top that's a cousin of Jasmine that shares so much heritage with the grandiflorium. A thick, buttery lather that really is flawless as it unfolds and yields to the razor with extraordinary cushion, glide and slickness. He makes my 'desert island' soap, there is no two ways about it.
Petit fleur forêt nuit is a private one I have been working on for some months now, it's a working mate for Manuel's soap and by design it harmonizes perfectly with the soap, I sometimes wonder if every soap were to be made with a matched Aftershave/Cologne if I ever would have began my journey into perfume and fragrances and I suspect I may have not. Still, a lovely Chypre with Jasmine Absolute subdued by the complexity of the brooding, deep base and middle notes that are in accord. Probably not for everyone as rarely Chypres are, certainly it sits well with me.
Have a capital Sunday you fine chaps & enjoy what you do

@nsavage the Scots Pine Sheep smell kinda soft sharp scent of pine a calm and pleasing scent that is nothing like a pine oil used in cleaning products, as it has a touch of oakmoss to round out the blend and it create a FANTASTIC lather the scent is not bad is not very strong just soft & calm smell of pine. I remember someone here has a Pine aftershave & cologne should be a perfect matching scent with Stirling Scots Pine Sheep shaving soap

The Stirling 'Scots Pine Sheep' uses genuine Scot's Pine (Pinus sylvestris) Essential Oil and not Fragrance Oil which smells like toilet cleaner. Scot's Pine oil EO is very affordable at any rate so why some people insist on using the Fragrance Oil garbage is beyond me.
The soap sounds fantastic, I have found most of the Stirling EO soaps I have actually used are quite good.
