Well due to APR I took the plunge after first using the internet on a 28.8k dial up connection back in 2000 or so and I finally joined Facebook.

In sum, is there a list of the wet shaving facebook groups somewhere, including the buy, sell and shave groups as i would like to join as many as possible. If people don't want to dump them publically can someone please shoot me a PM with a list of the groups.

also if you see this @shavetheman can you please approve my membership to your FB group, it's been 3 days now and I'm becoming impatient :D

I am not certain I have posted this in the correct sub-forum either or if a previous thread listing the groups, a search provided little, so there is that too...

@todras on you're APR website I don't see any copy right and product protection on your site, maybe @Mark1966 could advise you some information about protecting you're product from copy right do you follow me what I'm saying before you go too far on Facebook or Twitter

As I am a practicing lawyer I am more than aware of the legislation surrounding Intellectual Property in Australia and under both chapters of the Madrid protocols, but I appreciate your concern.

I presume you are referring to trade mark protection as an application for a patent on Aftershave is likely to be immediately rejected by IP Australia due to it not being unique and therefore unable to be monopolized. A Trademark application featuring an Australian Acacia and the word 'Australian' as a unique and distinct design is equally as likely to be rejected.

If my tiny, minuscule Aftershave concern ever reaches the point where counterfeits of the brand flood the market then I suspect I would be so furiously rich I doubt I would care. I think the chances of this happening are equal to IP Australia considering a Trade mark as previously detailed.

One of the first things they teach you at University is never, and I do mean never to take legal advice from a Chartered Accountant!!

I'm also struggling to reconcile your post with my request for information on Facebook groups.... :)

trade mark protection

That's the word I'm looking for 'trade mark protection' I couldn't place my finger on the word thanks, and I didn't know that you're a practicing lawyer sorry  just trying to protect your product. And no I'm not a member of Facebook and Twitter as I'm not allowed and I hate them because Facebook and Twitter steal private information about other people background as I'm told by a friend who is an AFP.

Wait a minute @todras has a website?

Sorry to derail further mate, but I am not on the books either.

I was going to add that there is a BST group for Australia on Facebook but I note that you are now a member. There are one or two other Facebook groups that I am aware of but no longer a member of. In my experience the local Facebook groups are very quiet with only one or two regularly posting and I found them to be a wast of time in comparison to the international groups which have a larger number of members and significantly more discussion (and in some cases a lot of bullshit too). I recently culled down to a small number of groups that I actively participate in.

I have also found that the Australian groups are so quiet that there is no point in advertising items for sale on them as well. In the last 6-8 months 99% of the transactions for items I have sold have been through P&C.

I joined a few of the US groups@nsavage , some very nice kit surfacing in the BST for me to blow my hard earned on including some nice brushes for restoration.

28.8k? Pft!!! Shear Luxury!
My fist modem was 2.4 to a BBS before the internet was around. First internet connection was via 14.4 in 1991 ish. Whoop that was a wild ride!

Sorry. OT but you seemed to have found the info you were after!

I ran 1200/75 on my apple //c prior to getting a Maestro aussie 2400 baud modem to dial up BBS's too, but I think our ages are showing...

Yes. I had a //c too! I love telling the kids if I wanted a game to play back then I would go and buy a book with the code and have to type it out and save it on a cassette tape drive. Used to take weeks just to play tennis. Happy days.

UK wet shaving society has a BST on Facebook too, not as good as the american one in my opinion but some nice stuff pops up now and then. They also do raffles. Vintage Gillette BST, mostly American and Europeans using it.

This would have been the speeds until around 2011 in rural Queensland wouldn't they @Sxot?
