Domain Change - We are moving to https://paste-and-cut.com by 25th January 2025
It is already up and working - you can move over to the new domain and use it right now. Please check the notice post for more details on this change to the forum.
hahaha. You have set a nice trap on yourself
Back when I first joined this forum, I scored an unused tub of Chypre Rose Concerto from another (no longer active) member of this forum. For a long while I told myself that the scent was just too much, and next time I would just stick with MdC Rose. But a boy is allowed to change his mind. (I'm not in politics, where nobody ever changes his mind, as they're all infallible.) But I kept the empty tub to store small self-drilling screws, and every time I open it, I'm greeted by that intoxicating scent. So four years later, I just had to go back for some more.
And a new pair of jim-jams arrived too. My cup runneth over.
Absolutely beautiful!
You smoking cuban cigars again
Absolutely Love it
@Gargravarr . Mate I salvage all the empty soap containers to put refills into or to Franken soaps. I do like the WK Chypre Rose Concerto, do let us know how you get on with it the second time around.

Hi Mate, Still awaiting your review before taking the plunge for this one.Recently found out that Baili introduced their first all stainless razor, the BRB3PS. Picked one up at the recent Aliexpress Sunshine sale. Not sure why they didn't machine out a proper thread post instead of the truncated version on this razor, makes the thread catchment really loose until you tighten it up. Thought on the shave soon.
An Absolute Beaut. Now eagerly awaiting another member to let go of his Blutt Rasur.
Just received courtesy of @Mark1966 my new favourite Paste & Cut member. He even threw in some blades!
Snap, same Iwasaki i have by Mizuochi I believe, if so they love a hand strop prior to shaving, at least mine does!!
I fell down another rabbit hole!
The straight razor rabbit hole proved to be very expensive. I now own more straight razors than any normal person would ever need.
In addition, I am 75 years old and I have a 50 year supply of DE blades, Injector blades and soap/cream.
I have always wanted to try a Kamisori, and I was able to resist the temptation until @rbscebu began to detail his Kamisori journey. I finally purchased one and have been using it for about ten days. The shaves keep getting better and better. Very close and comfortable. I find it more comfortable than my SR’s. This is most likely due to the shorter blade length which makes it easier to detail around my goatee.
I found it easy enough to shave with, but it was a bit difficult to strop due to the skimpy handle. After watching a YouTube video I have now upgraded the handle ("gara" according to Richard) and it fits in perfectly with my red/black bowl, brush, etc.
I have made an offer on a second Kamisori but that’s it! I am only buying two! I swear!
Since I need to take blood thinners, hand stropping is not an option!Snap, same Iwasaki i have by Mizuochi I believe, if so they love a hand strop prior to shaving, at least mine does!!
Unfortunately with 6 NOS in drawer or “small” display shelf, they will never (probably) get used by me? don’t tell SWMBO
When in the US, I filled a small suitcase with shaving goods (as you do).
I mainly targeted aftershaves and colognes, as these are the hardest to get shipped to Australia.
A key aim was to find some vintage Shulton Old Spice. Happy to say that I was successful, along with some other nice items.
More to follow.
@Phil Harmonica, you know you are starting to master the kamisori when you can do all your shaving with just the omote side to your skin. It takes some thought and practice but it can be done.

I’m getting there, even though it’s hard not to use the Ura under my right jaw where my whiskers grow sideways. I found that I can do it if I hold the kamisori sort of upside down in my right hand. Strange feeling.@Phil Harmonica, you know you are starting to master the kamisori when you can do all your shaving with just the omote side to your skin. You might have to fill up your coffin with some of that Old Spice if you ever plan to use it up. That Black Label Yardley was my A/S of choice back when I first started shaving. It was a lot easier to obtain then.
