B&M Email: Stirling will be making their soaps in the future

FYI, from an email sent out by Barrister & Mann: -

Hi everyone! Got a bunch of stuff going on and a few restocks, so we'll take these one at a time.

First and foremost, you've probably noticed that we are out of stock on most of our shaving soaps and aftershave balms, plus a number of bar soaps too. It's pretty desolate out there at the moment. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel!

We have, after a year of planning, begun packing up the production lab for shipment to its new location. We've crated and packed most of the equipment and begun prepping the remainder of our materials for travel. I suppose this is as good a time as any to announce that Stirling Soap will be taking over production of all Barrister and Mann products once we come back online in a few weeks.

Rod and Mandy, the nice folks who run Stirling, are pillars of the community and renowned for their commitment quality. If you have never tried a Stirling product, you should. To be absolutely clear, they will be using our formulas and methods to make our products, and there will be absolutely no change in performance or presentation once it has resumed production under their care.

We expect production to resume in a few weeks (I have to pay them a visit to teach them how to make our stuff), and will begin restocking everything on our site as soon as we possibly can. I'm really looking forward to visiting Arkansas and really excited to hand over my formulas to such a capable team!

I wasn’t sure to post here or shave soaps, mods move please if better there 👌

Cheers

Les

Don’t worry, I’m sure Stirling might steal a few ideas and there secret soap ingredients from B&M  as I love Stirling shaving soaps.

B&M is just a Sterling brand now it will never be the same

I don't see a reason to doubt them: it is just soap and aftershave, after all. Will is handing over his recipes, and machinery, and is going to work with Rod on the first batch to ensure it is all set up correctly. I don't expect people will be able to tell the difference when the first B&M under Stirling is released.

Very true mate
With a sense of smell like mine, I definitely won’t be able to tell the difference.

That’s because your nozzle is too bloody hairy.

Saw this post and just thought I'd share something. First, Rod Lovan remains one of the most honest blokes in the business and i can vouch for hat personally, so he isn't stealing anyone's recipes when he has pride of ownership for his own creations. If i was Will Carius, I couldn't have chosen better folks than Rod and Mandy to handle the production of my catalogue.

Will's Dad and Mum as in Hal and Paula helped him from the initial start up and were with him on the entire B & M journey. Hal who was a pillar of the wet shaving community passed away last year. There are more personal reasons involved in using another production unit to make B&M products than most of us know. Will is also concentrating on future projects for B & M.

If we look back at other brands, Maria Arman of Through The Fire Crafts makes Maggard's soaps to Brad's specifications. Vida Perez of Chicago grooming makes the soaps for House of Mammoth and now will be making the Spearhead Seaforth line too as HOM acquired Spearhead soaps. It doesn't mean that maria and Vida own the mentioned brands or that they even have a stake in it.

The Aylsworth Drakkant stainless steel and Ti were machined by Jake Yates of Yates Precision to Kaleb's specifications. jake also machined parts of the Paradigm DB. While the Drakkant was an Aylsowrth product owned by JKaleb, Paradigm remains a brand totally owned by Andy Andersen. Yates had no stake in wither of the two mentioned brands.

So lads, B & M will be B & M owned totally by Will Carius.
