Drilled out the butterscotch brushes today using a drill press and forsnter bits.
AS2A @ 22mm and Rooney @ 24mm - off to @Srdjan for some Rhodium Knots

Man would have loved that setup but space and use dictate not for me. The dremel stuff I find has multiple uses but there is no denying it’s much easier with big boy toys.

I'm glad that they have all ended up being made useful. That was my original plan but really just no time and then I lost interest.

Best advice I've had for a long time @Bucephalus. Wish I had thought of that a few months ago.

Im playing around with weighting the brushes as well. I have set them in blu tack, loctite kintsuglue or sugru might also be an option. I am using American coins because they were easier to source. The dime fits into the barrel easily and the 1 cent is good for the top as is the Australian 5c and 2 dollar coins. As a shelf the quarter dollar worked fine.

Tried some other coins because I had them.

The Australian 1c works in the barrel, 5 cents to top. The Australian half penny and and 10c coins work as a shelf.

Ok the Ever Ready works better with the 5c coin.

You can also build the shelf out of an epoxy putty like plasticweld. I have demonstrated with blu tack.

Ok the sweet spot for me was 7 dimes or Australian 1c pieces in the bottom just held in with blu tack and topped with a an Australian 5c coin or US 1c coin with an epoxy putty shelf. I will do 2 of the brushes this way. The 2 that happen to screw apart.

Ok then. Increased the hole size on 3 brushes and gave them a buff. The loft is set for each and now I just have to set the knots.

Ever-Ready 152C 20mm boar 52mm loft
Rubberset 203 Muhle silvertip fibre Synthetic knot V2 20mm
Ever Ready 150 22mm Tuxedo synthetic 55mm loft.
I opted for the Synth for the the 150 Ever Ready because the black fibre looked better than the white boar.
