I was sitting down enjoying a couple of drinks with the better half last week and was trying to decide what I brush I wanted to commit to as an upgrade to the 30+yo brushes I've had in storage....
I wrote down a list of contenders, and then asked her to do the same, the thought was that we'd have one or two match and from there I could narrow it down to a winner...
What I failed to account for was the ability for the wife to pick out mostly the same things I would.... a few ums and ahs later, and I thought 'bugger it, I'll throw it out there...' and said 'why not these?'
What I was not expecting to hear was 'if you want, go for it.' Historically, this been a very taboo phrase, generally reserved for smaller purchases, food and the like as my garage and 'cave' can attest to, I cannot be trusted with my own money...

Fast forward to today and I'm trying to pay attention to the monitors while feeling the one eye tearing itself off the screen and peering toward the small opening from which I can see the postie coming..
Here they come!
Open door and startle postie - Sorry!
Scamper off and unwrap my gift to me.... I have to say, I'm quite chuffed with the whole deal, communications, purchasing process, packaging, presentation, product. Shout out to @TroyTools .
The only 'negative' I could put to it, the pictures don't do them justice, they look a lot better in the resin.

Yep. I hear ya, not usually a genuine statement, more like woman-speak for "I dare you to piss me off by buying something you know I think you don't need" kind of statement.
Just like my like my garage and 'cave'.

An instant gorgeous collection of brushes! 🤩

How did you decide on the knots?
Lucky my hands were tied for all but one..
The only one that wasn't pre-knotted was the turquoise/copper one, which a few pics of the available knots and an "oh, I also found this one" and I jumped at it.

I've spent a lot of time over the years asking for forgiveness, I've found it the easier of the two...
However in the past few years I've pushed the buy button on things that would otherwise be in the regretted non-purchased items on her behalf... "You want it, we have the money, just shut up and get it, or I will." ... maybe it's starting to rub off. :sneaky:
I've also made a few sacrifices to get things on the premium end of her wants, so a few brushes are probably viewed as "at least it's not another garage/cave item."

I know that feeling very well. 😐 I have two man-caves now (the guest bathroom and my somewhat large shed). But now we've allocated a whole room in the house as Mme's studio, and I have been forward with supplying "wants" as well as "needs", I'm beginning to (ever so cautiously) relax.

@Nicked, you've done handsomely with Troy's brushes. (y) I'm pretty sure you have more than I do now, though mine are all customs. I particularly like that green one one the right.

He had me with turquoise and the green was just a happy bonus, it didn't pop nearly as nicely in the pic, but it was still nice enough to grab.
I'm now on the hunt for a stand for them, However I'm trying to cheap out in that regard as I can't justify several hundred for a wooden one that'll either force me to buy more razors, or deal with the empty slots and we all know how that pans out...

Easy does it.... carefuling....

Mate get a desktop organizer, one for razors in the flat drawer variety and the deeper one for Brushes. Out of sight and no stress, that's how I keep them. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Mate,
I just have individual Stainless Steel brush stands but use them mainly for drying. They cost about 1.50 or 2 dollars on Aliexpress and look really nice. Avoid spending on a Brush rack that is fancy, use that money for another piece of shaving hardware instead.

I was never a fan of expensive or Custom handles and was always more focused on the knot quality and characteristics. These crazy Aussie enablers on P&C and Troy's craftsmanship just changed all that. Like you and the fans of his work here, I truly think that Troy deserves a lot more credit than he gets for his skill. His Custom Brush handles are just sublime.

I'm pretty limited on my allotted space as one can imagine, and I'm not known for coordination, so if I can rack them all together in a safe spot with not too expensive a solution, I'm all for it. There's a perspex looking thing here that looks like it'll do the job, but I still have a couple left over, so I'd likely need 2 or 3 of these to cover all the brushes and keep them all in a neat section.... this then, however, swings the flood gates wide open for 'I have to fill the holes left for the razors." A dangerous slope, indeed. :bag:

There was still a level of control, however there was also alcohol involved, so I mulled it over throughout the weekend and threw some money @TroyTools way during the hangover coffee Sunday....
I did have a couple of others I was looking at, but I only have one me and can only justify so many cough cough for the time being cough cough.
Yeah, I saw this one yesterday in my googlings as noted above, however it'll lead to more purchases an.. and..... "Abandon all money, ye who enter here." ......
