Way back in the old cartridge days it was far more comfortable for me to shave in the shower. The steam made a big difference. Canned lather and a cartridge was 5 minutes, not 20.

Switching to DE changed all that so it's been over the basin since 2012.

I used to do the same, however I had the proraso in there with me rather than canned foam

Don't forget @Lifes a Peach that probably you know your face now much better than in your old Cartridge days...I think that also makes a big difference

Fair enough.

I've been on electric since my teens so shaving with a cart was short and so long ago I have no idea how well it went although I suspect badly if I ponied up for an electric. They (good ones) work just fine, quick too, but if I had bought a Remington, I could have had my money back.
