Drawn to Italian sartorial style? Absolutely. E. Marinella undoubtedly stands as a prominent landmark on the map of the peninsula’s master artisans. Founded at the dawn of the 20th century, this renowned tailoring house earned its reputation through its exceptional ties. Over time, its evolution led to the creation of a line dedicated to traditional wet shaving. My natural hesitation toward unfamiliar shaving products, coupled with the scarce and vague user feedback, led to a rather prolonged decision-making process.
The soap offers a consistency that sits somewhere between a croap and a cream. With a moderate amount of water, I whipped up a dense, rich lather that remained stable on the face without drying out prematurely. Primary slickness, residual slickness, and overall protection are all commendable. In terms of mechanical performance, it reminds me of Acca Kappa, albeit with a slight edge. Smelled directly from the jar, it releases a fresh scent that, to some extent, evokes Proraso White.
The aftershave balm has the consistency of a fine, light yogurt—thin yet creamy. Skin absorption is fairly standard. It hydrates beautifully, leaving the skin soft, smooth, as if coated in a subtle, satin-like sheen. The refined, fresh fragrance revolves around citrus and woody notes—essentially a classic Italian cologne accord. On a scale of 1 to 10, its intensity hits a 4, while its longevity on the skin caps out at about 60 minutes.
An excellent choice for office!
