Email issues - not all systems accepting our email

For some time now, the forum has faced issues with our email being accepted by remote systems. This generally means that emails we have been sending (ie signup emails, DM notifications & daily digests) are being rejected at your email server for certain mail providers. This means it does not even get into your spam folder, but instead is rejected by your mail provider as 'we will not accept anything from you'. While ostensibly this is to reduce spam reaching you, often it can also block email which you expect or is legitimate.

We are making some changes to try and improve this, without the cost of moving to an email relay service which instead sends email from another IP address (such as Amazon SES, Mailgun, SendGrid, SMTP2Go etc). Since this forum is run on a non-commercial basis and we have not monetized the site, using paid services like this would be a last resort to keep basic functionality alive.

If you have received an email test from admin@paste-and-cut.com recently, then this is part of our testing and likely that you have had an impacted email domain recently. If it comes through then this is a good thing!

Current Sending IP: 112.213.34.204 (Dedicated P&C IP)
SPF: Valid
DKIM: Signed
DMARC: Record Valid

The known providers which our members user and are problematic are listed below. We are also providing a current status if they are working or not. You can consider updating your account to a different email address, however only configure a personal address. We do not want you to use a work or corporate email address as this can cause issues when on leave, or if you cease to work there.

Changed outbound email to P&C IP. Microsoft email now accepted.

Outbound email now DKIM signed (DNS Mismatch). Apple inbound email now accepted.

We are working with our hosting provider to see what might be able to be done with the blacklisting.

All mail providers using the CSI/Proofpoint blacklist are now working due to delisting from the CSI list. This means most ISP-based email addresses should now be receiving email from us.

I have to say that our outbound logging looks really good right now, with the exception of people using GMX, and would recommend that people on GMX start investigating other email services suitable for them and consider moving. While we will continue trying to resolve this issue in good faith, there are known issues with GMX accepting email from multiple hosts and bouncebacks or failure to send is increasingly common.

I have personally started using Proton for email as privacy is becoming more important and doubly so with what we are seeing in the US. If you feel like Proton could be a good match for your needs, you can get a free month of MailPlus via https://pr.tn/ref/K6V6PZK3WWK0
