Yep, been down that road. The blast radius was somewhat contained for me because I'm interested in a limited palette of colours, but I have bought and then promptly sold many bottles of ink...

Just as well, having climbed out of that particular rabbit hole, I really don't want to jump back in.

I'm still hanging out for a Cigar Piccolo Toki-tame (no clip) with music nib. That colour of urushi just sucks me in. I can't justify spending that kind of money though, and everyone has been impervious to my hints.

They are certainly pricey. On the other hand, it is a dying art and the value will only ever appreciate. If you have to invest in something, it is a better choice than crypto!
