Hello all, I'm KJ, also known as Spider. I've been wet shaving since 2010 and was active on B&B and The Shave Den when I first started. Then I left B&B for The Shaving Cadre, and now that TSD is closing, I'm looking for a new forum. I'm also beginning to look at a vacation to Australia, so I thought I'd join here and help me learn something about the area.

I primarily use DE and occasionally SE, and every so often use a shavette. I prefer vintage razors and have a very large collection and several curio cabinets full of razors and all kinds of vintage gear on display. My dining room is a mini museum, lol.

My favorite artisan soaps are CBL Soap, Southern Witchcrafts, Oz Shaving Co, and Jeeves of Hudson Street.... with CBL Soap being the only artisan among those that is still in business. I'm also a big fan of Williams Shave Soap.

My favorite part of the shave is the Aftershave, and I especially love vintage. One of my favorite bottles is an over 100-year-old bottle of Aqua Velva.

Outside of wet shaving I have many other hobbies and interests.

I am a beekeeper and aside from producing honey, I also make my own lip balm, beard balm, and moustache wax all made from my bees' beeswax.

I'm a Freemason and am a past master two times over in my Lodge.

I am retired from the US Air Force and an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and I run the bingo program for our VFW post.

I am president of Chapter 11 of the Green Knights Military Motorcycle Club, and I own two Yamaha V-stars.

I keep tarantulas and snakes and also have a cat and a fish. Keeping tarantulas is how I got the callsign of Spider (shortened from my original callsign Spider-Man.)

I collect a lot of weird stuff like uranium glass, creepy dolls, Blue Boy and Pinkie statues, vomit clocks, macabre decor, and skulls. Halloween is our favorite holiday, and our house is decorated for it year-round.

Thanks for having me, and if you want to know more, just ask!

Welcome @Spider - that is some eclectic things you are into!

We do have a couple of Freemasons here but out Terms and Rules do prohibit getting to carried away with those sort of things. We are not heavy in moderation and you will be fine if you don't go down a rabbit hole.

Definitely come and visit Australia too!

G'day @Spider (Brother)

Welcome to P&C, I'm also a MM and a FAM for more than 20 years, I'm always on the square.

Welcome, Brother, and thank you for your service during US Air Force.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I won’t say “your about to open your wallet” with the “enablers” on here😢
I spent my first 10 years in this hobby getting enabled, and my collection show it. Now I'm pretty chill and it takes a lot to get me to buy anything. I finally came to the realization that I have way too much stuff and will never have to buy any shaving stuff for the rest of my life.

Welcome brother to P&C. I am also a former member of B&B and have found P&C much more to my liking - a very friendly group of blokes.

You certainly have some interesting "hobbies". About the only ones we have in common are wet shaving (I'm an exclusive SR shaver) and riding motorcycles.

I have travelled extensively for business (naval architecture) throughout the Asia Pacific region and the middle east. Now I have semi-retired to Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland Australia. You are welcome to come and visit me whenever you are in the region.
