Hi Everyone,

Excited to be apart of the forum, looking forward to learning from you all.

I have just started shaving *properly*, it's been about a month now.

What I really enjoy most about wet shaving with a DE Razor, is the mindfulness aspect to it. Really slowing down what I'm doing and allowing it to be more than a 'chore'.

My gear so far;

- Frank Shaving Pure Badger brush
- TOBS sandalwood cream
- Thayers Hazel Toner Unscented
- Proraso pre/post cream
- Feather blades
- Merkur 34C
- Gold Gillette fatboy???

Not sure if my other half approves of my new found hobby ($), though I'm sure she will come around [emoji3]

Cheers,

Welcome mate!

If it is a gold plated 'Fatboy' it is an Executive - a lovely razor.

If it is not this one, it might be an Aristocrat - the gold plated Slim adjustable -

Welcome @albra - great gear for 1 month - I'm sure you'll have a great time here(y)

Thanks @alfredus, I'm afraid I'm prone to bouts of G.A.S (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)

That will improve.

Soon you will have a whole range of more specialist conditions!

A Gold Executive should be too good for daily use. A rhodium-plated Fat Boy on the other hand, welllll.
Truth be told, I have just received it - so I still need to go through the motions of cleaning/restoring before considering to use it as a daily driver.

Perhaps on special occasions?

Bah.. don't listen to these guys that spend bulk on stuff only to never use it and pack it away for selling off as part of their estate. Pointless. If you like it, and it shaves nice, I say use it! Daily use with proper care/maintenance it will be in the same condition when it is finally sold off in the estate anyway! Only exception I would make is something that is truely NOS - in original packet, sealed or something similar. That I probably wouldn't use.
