Another nice shave on the 14 2.0 this morning, but I felt I could do better. Set the bevel on a Shapton Glass 2K, and then went to a diamond slurry on this Iromono kiita, before finishing on a light lather. Treetopping was promising...
Me again! Picked up a vintage coticule and took the Fili for a spin. Extremely promising edge; looking forward to the shave on Monday!
King 1/6K had been retired to knife sharpening but it has been the constant stone in rotation for the past couple of weeks as I try and reset some bevels

Went back to the vintage coticule, this time will a lot more laps on water, and a little more pressure. Treetopping after stropping on Tony Miller and Nakayama linen was impressive. Looking forward to this shave now!

Yep: definitely improved it.
That convinced me to go back to the bevel and start from the beginning. Shapton Glass 2k → Iromono kiita koppa w/ diamond slurry → lather → Ark/WD40. The edge is now exemplary.
Took the Pres to the Charnley, which I dressed to 1200 W&D: lovely surface to hone on and the HHT was impressive after stropping opn linen.
Loving the feedback on this stone. Really looking forward to the shave in the morning!
Me again! Took the Fili back to 5k, then 8k, before finishing on the Black Shadow. HHT was great. Shave test tomorrow!

New to me Yellow Lake. Wanted to see how it finishes so took the Ribbon to it for a touch up. Shave later today will determine if the promising HHT delivers...
Touched up a Koraat on a Trans Ark with WD40. HHT was great; shave in a couple of hours...

Touched up the Friodur on a Yellow Lake (with WD40). HHT was promising, but the jury will remain out until the shave in an hour or so...

I had a little chip on one of my stones and I was all concerned about it - but looking through the photos in the thread I have nothing to worry about lol
First trip to the stones for this yasuki steel Houken. Shatop Glass 2k, then Iromono kiita koppa with a diamond slurry → mikawa slurry → water → running water. HHT was awesome. Shave in an hour or so,
Loving this combination of stone, steel and grind; it yields a fantastic edge - sharp and crisp! Charnley Forest and Koraat Half Hollow:
