Bevel set on Shapton Glass 2k, the on to the JNats. Shave test in the next hour or so...
First session on the stones in 2025. Dilucot with the prep work done on the La Grise and the pre- and finishing on the old rock.

Was hankering for a shave off an Ark edge so wheeled this Fili out for a touchup. Both sides of this Translucent are finished; one to 600, the other to 1200. Started with WD40 on the 600 until there was zero friction, then flipped it over for the coup de grâce. HHT was scary! 
Went back to the coti to see if I could make the edge a little keener, HHT suggests mission accomplished. Shave test tonight.
Came to post today's efforts and realised it is just me, so I'll wait until someone else posts here before continuing to bore people with my setup!

Experimenting with this Iromono kiita as a one stone hone: diamond slurry to water. HHT suggests the shave in the morning will be a good one!

Reset the bevel with Kapton (Gergelys used electrical) on an SG2k and then went to the Iromono kiita. HHT was superb: shave in the morning!
Went back to the start with this one. Full dilucot, finished first on water with a drop of detergent, and then just lots of laps on plain water. HHT was good off the stone, and superb after linen stropping. Looking forward to the shave this afternoon!

Lovely photo mate. I still have trouble getting my head around Synthethics, your JNS, Ark's Coti's etc makes me wish I was a lot more ''hands on'' than I am. Recent example was my Iwasaki kami, which I thought had arrived shave ready, no amount of stropping, balsa progression etc good I get a comfortable shave off. until I enquired with and sent to @Substance to get it honed. Dion definitely knows how to put a lovely edge on a razor!
When you can find the time, putting it into a honing session is a great investment; it doesn't take long to get great edges yourself. Just don't practice on the Iwasaki!

My Grelot 'Royal Canada' P. Hospital needed a touch up: Shapton 8K, Naniwa 12K SS, then Koma Nagura on Nakayama Mizu Asagi.
Full JNat progression on Yasuki steel. Easy honing for a guaranteed superb edge!
Grunt work on the La Gris and finished on the vintage.
