M&F with Mystic Water

Again many thanks to @Psmith for this stellar brush and for adding one of my all time favourite soaps to the package!

Sorry @Mark1966 - looks like she is a keeper...
A timely reminder to yours truly that it's high time I got in some more Mystic Water soap. I sometimes wonder if you are the only other member here who admits to using it. It's been a while since I ran out, and I've been missing it. Roll on Jan 1st 2026... :banghead:

Been a while since I bowl lathered, but felt like mixing it up today. Squished a bit of Castle Forbes Lavender into the bottom of the bowl and went at it with the Simpson M7 Synthetic. Did the whole Marco Method thing — soaked the brush, let it drip, no squeezing or flicking — just loaded it up and started whipping. Ended up with a lovely slick lather that made for a smooth double pass with the wee Dorko. Good stuff.

Update.
I went to get a coffee before the shave and promply
knocked the bowl onto the floor lossing 90% of the lather so I swiched to FINE Latigo.
As I only had a small sample of Kentucky rain.
Easy come easy go.:sneaky:

Well, if you didn't lose your bowl, that's "FINE". ;) My treasured Jilli Spencer bowl bears the scars of a superglued repair after a pot plant fell on it, and I treat that as a case of well-earned wabi-sabi. Jilli has retired now (though still pretty nearly a neighbour), so there is no question of asking her to make me another, but I am content. In any case, there are a couple of other Tasmanian potters whose work I really admire, and I am considering asking them to indulge my BAD (Bowl Acquisition Disorder - which doesn't seem to be mentioned too much around here) early next year.
