Look what I've got......

No, but I think changing your avatar can be.....

We are unlikely to have any more children but our cat died recently (long sad story) and we are looking at getting a couple of kittens. Maybe I should name one Marco.....

Settle down. You got 3 words, he's just using you to keep his post count bobbing along.

Even so, this is a disturbing turn of events

WOW! I have made it!!!!!!

My YKW thread got a post from ... MARCO! Check it out.

For a "proud moderator" at P&C you really have to set your standards a bit higher. I looked at his Wiki and it confirms the fact that he really is a prize tool. I'd sort of hoped that he wasn't taking himself too seriously but his carefully documented catalogue of every bit of dumb-arsed advice he's ever given contradicts that.

.......So, what to do now.

I'd say just use it. There aren't many 60yr old brushes around that look in that good a shape. If the knot disintegrates you can always get it re-knotted or re-knot it yourself. I've heard people rave about the quality of the pure badger they used at Simpsons. But then people will rave about anything, particularly if it's no longer available. Worth a try. I had a similarly aged little travel brush with a boar knot that I in a fit of restore madness replaced with TGN best. Not disappointed with the result but I regret doing it really. And yes, it was the best boar knot I've had to date.

Is that why you've given him Marcos own personal avatar? I keep thinking I've logged on to the wrong site. It's scary.

No, no, surely not!

What is this 'proud moderator' nonsense? Nobody is stupid enough to make me a mod anywhere!

I went and had a look at the wiki too - a wealth of resources I say!

I'm thinking that this will be the way I go. Just clean it up a little (I know how to do this for the knot but need to investigate how to clean the handle without damaging it) and give it a burl. No sure how many brushes I have room for in the bathroom though. If I restore the others what do I do then? Still leaves me with replacing my broken 1305 with....

Si, that Drubbing.....

I say send it back to it's spiritual home and get it re-knotted. It's only right.

Beautiful butterscotch handle that.

If the knot is useless then that is an option. Inspite of it's bleached condition it could be a fantastic knot in there. Gotta try it first.
