When I worked in Saudi 20 years ago my barber used to do the whole hot towels, head massage and neck crack thing when I went in for a shave and haircut..... he also used to make this string/thread cat's cradle thing with his fingers and thumbs and roll it across nose, forehead, ears and cheekbones to remove the "fluff" you don't normally touch with a razor blade.

This contraption on eBay looks to be a step up from the threads and looks like it will be almost just as painful!
