Newbie - Sandgroper

Thanks guys.
Sxot, MMR is a wonderful thing is it not? Hopefully, wet shaving is like riding a bike; once learned, never forgotten! :(

Well guys, had my first two DE shaves. 1 x Feather and 1 x Wilkinson Sword and boy did I err! After my 2nd shave, I noticed the WS blades were made in India :cry: ! Many unprintable adjectives spring to mind. $14.95 (10 pack) down the drain, they went straight into the big green receptacle. LESSON LEARNED - read before purchase!

I was happy with ARKO soap and even used a Coles brush "$7 special"; nice lather and pleasant smell. My next shave will be with the once-used Feather blade and a proper brush. Post-shave, I use "Caroline's Cream"; all natural ingredients (y) !

Welcome back to wet shaving @Becephalus - thanks for serving our country (and going about it clean shaven too!).

The Feather Popular razor is meant to be quite good, but it won't be the same as your old Gillette razor. There's plenty of them still around and many of us use the vintage Gillette razors on a regular basis. I don't know if you still have your old Gillette but you can always post a "Want to Buy" (WTB) in the relevant section. Someone here would be able to sell you one like you used to have for a reasonable price. [emoji106]

Thanks filobiblic. I'm Scots by birth but Aussie by choice; arrived in April 1973, became a citizen in May 1975.
I might just post a WTB for a "G" butterfly. In 1982, I misplaced mine :( about 80 Kms NW of Bourke. So, if any
of you guys are out that way and find one, it's MINE! :D

Don't know if there are any Scottish safety razors. There's the odd straight razor made by the Scots.
