It's thicker than SH balm, but that is about all I can compare it to. Con says "thicker than a lotion, thinner than a balm" or something to that effect.

@Mark1966 if your going to take a spin at the R41 make sure you used a heavier handle not the original handle, because the heavier handle gives you a better control and balance shaving with the R41 v2013 head.
